I don't really know the full Abilities of Master Chief, but i am assuming he doesn't really have good H2H skills..So Steve should have the upper hand in that category. As for the Gravity Hammer vs The Vibrainium Shield...the hammer should not actually damage the shield itself but would push back and even inflict injury on Steve, but all i know about the hammer that it isn't unlimited, so if were going with that same thought....Steve could probably pull it of knowing that Chief will become a sitting dock after the Hammer wheres off.

@lagoon_boy: John 117 has had the toughest training know to man.he wasn't given a serum to make him a super soldier,he was taken by the government as a baby and "bred" to be a super soldier,low gravity planet training,several combat style training,knife fighting and throwing,several drugs that would kill normal humans.and that is just the start.so there you go.

@MarvelJackAss433: Being able to Take drugs isn't really impressive to start it off even though it would prove lethal to most humans.
And I'm pretty sure Captain America's Fighting abilities is far better than master chiefs, unless you show me otherwise.

I do not really know but my gues is that the hammer is pretty slow Cap is fast if he has the chance he could knock Master Chief with his shield out. if cap gets hit he would probably die
I am just guesing so i would like someone else their opinion

@gambit987: Steve is pretty durable, i don't think a single hit from the GH would instantly kill him.

@lagoon_boy:the serum cap took was a drug.these are the same,only a lot more improvement in the body.
and lets compare.
caps been trained to fight nazis since he was(was he twenty?or was he 18?i know he was young when he started the serum).
Chief has been trained to kill advanced races since he was three.
you can't put MC down.

@MarvelJackAss433: Your Wrong, Cap has not only trained but perfected several Martial arts for almost a 100 years, i'm guessing Chief does have normal Aging abilities. So experience wise goes to Steve. Whats so special about being trained to fight Aliens? isn't that why there are teammates with him? Aren't they too trained to do so too?
