In hand to hand Cap would likely outpace Naofumi but Naofumi has a few shield spells he can cast at range such as shield prison, which he uses to trap enemies in a sphere of shields he can then cast Iron maiden to turn the shields into an iron maiden casket, so Cap would get impaled from every angle by spikes although does have morals and likely wouldn’t kill Cap in his first move. They both have the capabilities to beat eachother but Naofumi is very crafty and does not fight fair, so he would likely use under handed methods he also has other spells such as fast heal to heal any physical injuries he just has so much more versatility than Cap and more ways to ultimately get a KO, Incap, or outright kill him.

Bonus round could go either way. Shield hero team could surprise them with a combo of magic, Raphtalia can make a copy of herself to confuse them and Filo can increase her speed significantly and blitz them but the full auto weapons could surprise Filo and Raphtalia as they’ve never seen weapons like that and Filo has a tendency to rush in while ignoring Naofumi’s orders.

CAPTAIN AMERICA IN HAND TO HAND COMBAT WOULD DEMOLISH NAOFUMI EVEN ITS THE MOVIE VERSION.

@banetheking: dude have you even watched shield hero? Naofumi has incredible defense, and even though his attack is quite weak compared to the rest of the cardinal heroes, it was stated that he can kill a grown-up man in a single punch. Plus he has quite a variety of things he can do, skills like Air Strike Shield which he can use for defense or sometimes offense as a stun attack, shield prison which traps people in a cage made of shields, and also healing and buff spells. And if he decides to use rage shield, if Cap hits Naofumi his self curse burning will activate and burn him with cursed flames that can't be extinguished through ordinary means, which literally took down a giant zombie dragon. Also some of his curse series skills as well are Iron Maiden, which traps the enemy in, well you know, an iron maiden that will impale the enemy, and blood sacrifice.
