Where was it confirmed that the rings had the mass of a small moon? Goddamn the Russos are as inconsistent as Gladiator and Rebirth Superman.

He can't lift something like Earth's moon over his head. But the Nidavellir Rings were confirmed by the Russos as having the same size of a small moon and being made entirely out of some extremely durable metal is probably a good bit heavier. Thor supported their mass.

No. If he was so strong he could have stopped the floating Sokovia by himself. Hulk gets hurt by much less than moon level strength so he's a non factor. This also doesn't include the fact that Superman is magnitudes above in speed.

I remembered incorrectly. It's the size of a small moon, not the same mass. Tho being made entirely out of metal its mass is probably a good bit bigger.

I say just don't listen to the Russos lol. They make everything completely senseless.

It's like they're just opening their mouths now to still retain power over the film.

This is just pure idiocy

Because the "Russo's said" means nothing a writer in Avengers claimed a Chituri Leviathan was 300 million tons lol

To be fair it's kinda hollow so maybe a country level feat?

Seriously, MCU Thor in his prime wasn't even a Mid Tier if we put him to comics.

he's arguably a city level durability

and no way he can lift a large village sized object like Sovakia in AoU. lifting a city? a mountain? an island? a country? a continent? a moon? you thinking a f*cking Saitama.

Even if it didn't have the same mass, that would still weigh millions of tons

@panda_emperorix: Mount Everest weighs 178,500,000,000 tons

Chicxulub asteroid that caused mass extinction weighs between 1.0×1015 to 4.6×1017 kg or 460,000,000,000,000 tons

Moon is way bigger than you think lol. too much anime lmao

Eh who knows. The rings were definitely big as hell though there's no denying that. Definitely above quite a few mountains. What's more interesting is it's cool to see what the Russo's and really the creatives behind the MCU in general think of their characters. They definitely intend for them to be super powerful.

One thing that’s clear to me is that these creators have a higher opinion of Thor and Hulk’s power level than we do. To the Russos Thor really is a star tanking moon lifting god. One writer threw out the number 3 million tons for Hulk.

@bearderby: The special effects team back in 2012 said MCU Hulk was somewhere between 1,100-1,600 pounds. Thanos has a eerily similar body shape to Hulk (Hulk seems to be more wide though) so I think it's fair to say Thanos is around that weight as well. Looks aren't everything ofc but still

@darthvaderrocks: and how is Saitama of MCU can lift 100,000,000,000-178,500,000,000 Tons (few mountains you said) if he can't one shot Thanos? and can't do hill level strikings with his punch?

Thor can't even overpower Thanos who only weighs 1,100-1,600 pounds and stated 60,000 tonner, that's almost nothing to Thor from your statement.

"who knows" you think there is a tiny bit of chance he can lift 73,476,000,000,000,000,000 tons?

I would just like to point out the smallest moon in our solar system is only 7 miles across, so if we go with the extreme, yes, technically the rings could be close to that size. But either way, he never actually lifted the rings, he held on to a spaceship that pulled them as the floated on a mechanism in the vacuum of space, so no, he can't lift a moon.

@bladeoffury: Well there was very low gravity that the rings were creating, but that doesn't matter when it comes to moving them through space. It would only matter if there was an outside gravitation force making it harder to pull the ring. And he didn't actually lift them, he just made them start spinning. It's definitely really impressive, but not on par with lifting them.

Exactly, it's like trying to say opening a large door means you can pick it up. It definitely doesn't work that way.
