@tethadam: Lifting Strength /=/ Striking Power. Hyperion wouldn't even hurt Super Girl with a punch.

In a comic setting,yeah probably.

Battleboards? Not really, I mean he wouldn’t flat out no sell it but it wouldn’t do much more than piss him off and prompt a quick beat down.

Sure they'll hurt him with a punch if Superman throws his face into it

Which Hyperion are we talking about here? Some are weaker than others and they don't all have the ability to strike with the same kind of force.

And whoever said that strength doesn't equate to striking power is both right and wrong. If a little kindergartner who could barely lift a brick went to strike you, you wouldn't feel a thing. But give that same kindergartner the ability to lift 10 tons and invulnerability on top of it, when he went to punch you, you will go through a wall; you will have broken bones and internal organ damage, depending on where his fist impacted you, to say nothing of the additional damage incurred after you smacked the wall(s). Let's be real. There is a correlation between strength and impact force, but it may not necessarily be a 1 to 1 correlation.

@dragonspine: On Comic Vine, lifting Jupiter means you still lose to a moon-buster because "muh striking feats" lol

Superman gets KTFO if he just let's them wail on him. One has destroyed a planet, the other has planetary strength. Superman is more powerful than either, but let's get real, they aren't street levelers here.

They would hurt him, but they'd never do enough damage to actually put him down.

Superman getting his superwank treatment.

Yea they'd beat the sh*t out of him if he just floats there.

Uh yeah, composite 13034 Hyperion vs Clark would be a good fight, with Clark taking the majority. His durability is the reason he'd last long enough to that standard, given he has such a small amount of feats, and subpar speed.

Glads could do something if we go by high-end performances versus the different Thors. He probably won't.

Hyperion - yes.

Gladiator breaks his arm. Unless it's Rebirth Superman, in which case he can, since both of them are mid-tiers.

@toratorn:

Is there any evidence of that? Mid-tier Gladiator ? Woah.

"Mid tier" Rebirth Superman fodderizes planet busters and moon busters to the point where he looks an entire tier above them. "Mid Tier" Rebirth Superman completely no-solds planet busting like it's nothing to him.

No they cant if its post crisis Superman. Maybe if he lets them punch his face all they long he will feel it. But they are nowhere near the striking level that Superman can tank.

@dragonspine: This is very true. There is a reason why Heavyweight fights sell more, bigger and stronger men means higher KO ratio. New Hyperion can probably do this, he hurts Thor and Hulk on the regular so he could hurt Superman, (also depends on which Superman?). If its the newer variations of Superman then Marvel Now Hyperion without a doubt hurts him, nothing major like blood flying or a loss tooth, but definitely enough to hurt him a decent bit.

Gladiator is the reverse of Hyperion in that the newer variations are not on the level of his peak or past selves, of that makes sense. Though even modern Gladiator was able to hurt female Thor, who was flying through the solar system in a trading punches match against Odin. If he is at 100% confidence, he can.

So in essence

Can they harm Superman?

Modern versions of all characters taken into account? Yes. Not to the point Supers needs a minute or can hear ringing in his head, but enough to make him realize these guys are notches higher than an Aquaman.

Earlier variations like Silver Age Supes or First versions of Hyperion then no. Only Early Gladiator has a whiff of a chance at actually hurting Supes then.

@supermanthor: Pulling planets like it was nothing, sneezing whole solar systems away. It was kind of why I hated Superman initially, it took me reading the 'Rebirth' variation to eventually start liking him again.

Kinda why I sort gravitated to being a Marvel guy initially, less top heavy.

ture rebirth version of superman has better characterization he is still powerful but not overpowered

Kinda why I sort gravitated to being a Marvel guy initially, less top heavy.

well marvel operates their power level on a different way all of thier overpowered guys and gals are either comic entities or gods
