Hafthor couldn't beat conor mcgregor he would get wrecked
That wasn't a fight, that was play sparring. Conor is a 100x better fighter than Halfthor but he is way too small for him. Halfthor would certainly beat McNugget, there was a point in the video where he had Conor's head in a guillotine and with his strength, he could have choked him out.
Heavyweights are a different thing, especially two of them.
Even if it was sparring it goes to show that hafbor couldn't land a hit on him. And a roundhouse of that force to the chin doesn't care how big you are.
Halfthor was able to catch him several times and let him go. He has the speed and explosiveness required to catch Conor. Strongman contests require athleticism.
Except Conor has never even come close to connecting with someone's chin with a roundhouse kick. He uses his spinning kicks to set up the left-hand, primarily. And he is too short, comparatively, to connect with Halfthor's chin.
Mcgregor escaped from his grip because he's quick. Hafthor can punch hard but punching fast is a different story. Considering Mcgregor trained in some capoiera reaching his chin is probably not that much of an obstacle. Worst comes to worst he doubles him over with a few stomach shots and then kicks his skull in
The fanboyism is strong in this one.
Mcgregor escaped from his grip because he's quick.
Watch it again and this time, take away the fanboy glasses. Halfthor let him go, because it's play sparring. He could have easily punched or kneed him in the clinch, if he was serious.
Hafthor can punch hard but punching fast is a different story.
He doesn't need to be Ali, he punches fast enough to hurt Conor, not that he needs to punch, to hurt him. And one of his punches will be devastating, considering his mass advantage. Again, he is athletic enough to catch Conor in a clinch and knee or punch him in head.
Mcgregor trained in some capoiera reaching his chin is probably not that much of an obstacle.
I am aware. That didn't stop him from throwing a super-telegraphed spin-kick against Nate, that didn't have a prayer of landing. He is still too short, and throwing a crouching spinning kick isn't going to help him any more to reach Halfthor's chin, than a regular Tae Kwon Do kick.
Worst comes to worst he doubles him over with a few stomach shots and then kicks his skull in
Nope lol. You do understand that in real life, size matters? Conor doesn't have the mass to hurt Halfthor. If Halfthor were on his knees, I'm sure he can hurt him bad with a roundhouse kick. But not in a fight.
