i give to edge to bolin. lava puts him over the top and i’ve personally never held tonraq to particularly high standards.

Probably Tonraq. I think whatever I've said about Mako on the topic extents to Bolin as well. It's not like Bolin can bend more lava than Tonraq can water and ice, and he's clearly not viewed as that good a fighter that he could fight Unalaq or Zaheer.

Bolin with lava has become too powerful for Tonraq to beat in a majority. Bolin's standard earthbending is impressive as well.

Pre-lava Bolin would probably lose to Tonraq.
