Penny for your thoughts on this battle? Since Izuku is the anime/manga character in this fight, here is Izuku's respect thread for anyone interested in this battle.
Yeah as far as I can tell Deku may have a strength advantage going all out, but he doesn't seem to go 100% that often anymore, I also don't think he is faster than him, but I could be convinced. IMO the stats look like this:
Black Panther | Stat Advantages | Deku |
---|---|---|
Strength | + (If he goes all out before fight) | |
+(I see BP as faster, but I could be convinced they are closer) | Speed | |
+(I think BP has a definite edge here) | Skill | |
+ (Energy Daggers, Anti-Metal, Suit outclass what I have seen from Deku) | Gear |
So overall I see Black Panther winning this fight, with low-med difficulty if Deku goes all-out. But I am not that familiar with MHA so I am willing to listen to arguments for Deku.
Izuku isn't ready to fight people like Challa, this is basically a repeat of his fight against Stain.
Deku could overwhelm him if he upped his One-For-All percentage to high levels. As of now in the manga, the best he can do right now without harming himself is use 8% of One-For-All, and that's not enough to beat BP imo.
Even 100% or 1,000,000% might not put him down, but it will hurt him to some disagree. This would ultimately hurt Izuku himself in the process though. Yeah, siding with Panther on this one.
Izuku can blitz bullet timers, so I'm not sure why people are saying Panther is faster. Vibranium will protect him from any 8% attack, but I doubt Panther can take a 100% or Overcharged Smash.
Izuku should take it as long as he gets serious quickly.

Bullet timers? I don't recall any characters particularly dodging bullets.
@deathhero61: Kirishima reacted to a bullet after it was fired at him from a few feat away, and he's far from the fastest person in the class. 5% Izuku was outpacing Stain (who was outpacing Shouto and Iida), and 8% Izuku was blitzing Bakugo (who was striking fast enough that Kirishima could barely keep up with him during the Sports Festival) and keeping up with Mirio (who was blitzing the rest of 1A, excluding Shouto and Katsuki).

That's an insane amount of scaling my friend.... also wasn't the "bullet" a dart? Would it really have the same level of propulsion and projectile speed?
@deathhero61: I mean, not really. Pros are faster than students, and people with speed boosting quirks are faster than people without them. If Kirishima, the guy with average student speed can bullet time, everyone else should be able to replicate it at least.
They're literally called bullets, and they're fired from guns. Why assume they're slower?
Do you have a scan for that? Because I honestly don't remember this instance.
And honestly it would be an outlier since he couldn't react to this.
@kamishini: That is the reaction. He transformed in the time it took the bullet to fly out and hit him. And you can see him looking at the bullets trajectory as he moves his head back. It's low-bullet timing, but for such a slow character its pretty great.
I'm pretty sure he was already transformed, since he was fighting, and to me it seems like it's the bullet that force his head back. Could be wrong thought.

How do you know he didn't already have his power active?
@kamishini: He wasn't transformed before the shot. I'll find the scan.
@kamishini: Got it.
@deathhero61: See above post. He was powered down when it was fired.
It seems like he was able to react, but 2 things.
- He was clearly ready for it since the other guy (I don't remember the name) was already shoot and the fatty warned him.
- While I was searching I found the bullet scan and given its form is kinda hard to think about it as a normal bullet.
