Black Panther VS Black Manta

For no reason on then it is the coolest evil black dude in comics vs the coolest good black dude in comics(IMO).
Anyway they both have tech and they both are good fighters Black manta is a human that constantly fight highly advanced and strong sea creatures like aquaman(up yours superman beating up lex luthor). Black panther takes on numerous foes that should in theory out class him.

The fight is to the death, all weapons and powers can be used, and is takes place on a boat in Wakandan sea.

Black Panther wins in a fight to the death or to ko. Black Panther has tech advantage, fighting skill advantage, battle strategy and general intelligence advantage. Not to start anything, but Black Panther will beat Batman. Ask me why? Run the numbers Batman can't keep a single city safe, Panther runs an entire nation. Dr.Doom +Batman = Black Panther

Anyway Manta stomps.

Speaking as someone who once tried to collect Manta feats....eh, he's not that impressive battle-wise, to be frank. He's only been cool in Others, and maybe a little bit in Brightest Day. KOTD Black Panther has the physicals advantage, the intelligence, and the gear.

@veshark: Mantas up there in the prep status quo too, he makes his own gear and takes shots from a blood lusted Aquaman on a basis. And even has tech powerful enough too harm Arthur. Really, Manta sorta out classes Panther.

Given that its a random encounter, I don't think prep really matters (and in this regard BP still outclasses him, considering Panther's beaten Iron Man, Magneto, and Mephisto with prep time). And Manta's 'improved optics' in the Others only singed Arthur. His knives have cut Arthur granted, but then again, Aquaman has always had a vulnerability to piercing weapons. I'll give you his suit's durability though, it can take a fair bit of damage.

Black Panther is the ninth (eighth?) smartest man in the MU, has all the knowledge and experience of past Black Panthers, comes with a suit that can cloak, teleport, and generate force-fields, has superhuman strength and senses, has the HTH skills on par with Captain America, and has anti-metal claws and phasing energy daggers.

He's stronger, faster, more durable (physicals-wise), has more tech, is smarter, has a higher level of skill, and also has more experience than Manta. How will BM even beat him?

I love Black Manta, he's one of my favorite villains, but he really doesn't have much to show feats or stats-wise. Just saying that he fights Aquaman regularly doesn't mean much, considering he doesn't even win. Even BP regularly goes toe-to-toe with superhuman foes. A pre-upgrade Black Panther defeated a Super-Skrull with zero prep and won. BP just defeated one of Thanos' Black Order generals in New Avengers, didn't he?

The armor, teleporter and vibranium knives tip this in his favor, but Manta will make him work for it due to his range (Eye beams and electric hook lines), strength and durability (Manta's suit should be more durable since he usually tanks the hits instead of dodging and can survive ocean depths)

Dude, It's on a boat, and without prep, Manta would win surely, since panther wouldn't one shot him fast enough before getting into the water, and if it comes to that, he wouldn't stand that much. If Manta Could distract him throwing something and then try to destroy de boat while the panther is coming for him, I see him winning...

I maintain that for the most part, New 52 Manta isn't street level.

That said, that's crappy logic for him beating Panther. Panther has the gear to bypass his durability(energy daggers) and destroy most of his gear and suit(anti-metal claws).

I suppose it comes down to the starting distance. If T'Challa can close the gap rather quickly, he should win. If not, he'll probably end up roasted or something.

On land Black Panther would beat him down with superior weapons and hand to hand. On a boat Manta will win because of his suit. He will take it to the water and punish T'Challa.

Manta should still have an advantage from afar. He has harpoons, spears, and swords for that.

Vibranium's specialty is dealing with energy. A pure energy blast like Manta's is all but useless.

T'Challa suit, being thin,can be defeated by slashing and piercing attacks, that can get between the threads. But T'Challa outclasses Manta in close quarters so Manta is screwed there too.
