Actually, 9 out of 10 times, Oliver always shoots arrows at his opponents. Only when they dodge it or something, he closes in. Or when he just wants to punch the hell out of someone, as was the case with Kovar and Prometheus. Take Ben Turner for example. Or Malcolm Merlyn. Or literally any Mirakuru soldier. Oliver always shot at them, trying to maintain his distance.

There are a lot of things he could have done. He could have blown him up. Headshotted him. Blinded him. There are a lot of ways Oliver could have taken care of Stardust, but he decided to close in because it was another way he could have taken down Stardust. And he did.

Regardless, these are actually exception to the rule that Oliver almost always tries to shoot his opponents first. But considering T'Challa can react to arrow, this fight would most definitely come to h2h at some time. And unless Oliver realizes he won't put T'Challa down by punching him, he will loose.

Not necessity. Oliver could have taken down Stardust in other ways. He had several options and he chose to go h2h. I don't think it was pride though. Oliver wouldn't care about showing it to some random guy. T'Challa included.

Makes sense. Though it won't be the same case in this fight.
Panther did get the better of Ws mode Bucky while in normal clothes and it's confirmed he's enhanced to the level of MCU super soldiers- as if the bomb feat and WS fight didn't give that away - so I think he's shown enough to beat Ollie
Oliver's screwed in round one, but he could probably pull out a win in round two with the right trick arrows and he keeps his distance. There's still a chance that he'd start with regular arrows in round 2, see that they're useless against T'challa, and then go into h2h combat where he'd get destroyed like he did against Slade in season 2. They have a similar skill level, but T'challa is an entire tier or two above him in physicals.

T'Challa can dodge arrows (and even bullets), he is not being tagged by any of Oliver's gear, which is what you said would give him the win. You said he wins due to gear, not hand to hand.

What arrow downed mirakuru Slade? He beat Slade with an arrow that tied him up after he got off of Mirakuru. There is no reason to believe that T'Challa can't tear through that if it does get him. And he also dodged some of Clint's arrows too, no guarantee he would catch anything.
@jayc1324: nvm it wasnt an arrow it was some sort of concussion device. CW deathstroke is a bullet and arrow timer and he couldnt react to this. When T'Challa is down all Ollie needs to do is stick an arrow through his brain. He takes this.
And T'Challa wins round 1 since he is physically superior to Oliver and isn't getting tagged unless arrow goes hand to hand, where he still loses. He might win round 2 but idk.
