MCU Captain Marvel binary form
vs
DCEU Justice League Superman.
This battle about only race.
Race to Pluto...
Who wins?
How fast is CM? People have said that she's FTL but I've also heard she's simply FTE. If the latter, she's around Supes level or slightly below in speed and thus loses.
@breakofdawn: FTL in travel speed
CM gets there. She waits for Supes. Gets Bored. Goes back to Earth. Superman gets there and thinks he wins.
But gee hopes CM doesn’t fly right by Pluto since... you know... people say she isn’t able to react at light speeds.
Carolgets there and waits for about a couple hours for superman, then gets bored and goes off. A year and a month or two later, Clark pulls up.
Carol at the end of the movie was undoubtedly FTL. Superman's best travel feat is what? Mach 1000? it'd take him over a year at that speed to get to pluto, while it'd take carol hours
Clark uses Kalpotence to speedblitz MCU.
Just joking, Carol wrecks. Only guys who are faster are F4 Silver Surfer, SV Flash, SV Superman, CW Flash, probably CW Supergirl and Reeve Superman
This is the one thing she can beat supes in... this time, he's the statue.
This
Carol move at Turtle speed. Clark would have zipped past through 55 billion universes at this point, clearly. Mismatch!
I did not realize people had this perception of Carol's movement speed; what is that based on? How fast she flew into orbit at the end of the film?
The entire thing dealt with the engine being capable of lightspeed travel. That and she told fury that she’s be going to another galaxy.
@emanresu_20: Oh, duh I don't know why I didn't think of that. Yeah we did see her moving at the same speed as the ship with the light speed engine. Ofc.
Obviously Captain marvel, not really debatable. She is faster in travel speed and slower in combat speed were it matters.

Woah, I didn't remember that at all. Sounds like concrete evidence if it's true. Guess the MCU has a high tier faster than anyone in the DCEU now...? Sounds weird to say it.
@anthp2000: It actually makes sense in hindsight because Carol got her powers in the first place by absorbing the energy from Mar-Vell's original light speed engine.

She got her powers from the Tesseract. Also, it makes no sense. If she was FTL, why would she need a ship at the end of the movie. The ship would not be lightspeed, and would infinitely be slower then her own travel speed.
@Aristeaus: The Tesseract was powering the light speed engine. Do you remember the conversation she had with Talos? She destroyed the engine which released the energy that she originally absorbed. But the core IE the Tesseract was still intact.
The ship was for the Skrulls, not for Carol. She obviously did not need the ship to travel to other galaxies because she was flying outside of the ship at the end of the film; your logic doesn't follow.
Also when you consider that the Tesseract is the Space Stone it makes total sense that that would be an energy source capable of light speed travel.

Your point? Her powers came from the Tesseract. Not from the ship, or the engine.
The ship was to find the Skrulls a new home. Something she could have done much, much faster if she was truly light speed. My logic follows fine. If your looking for a habitable planet for the Skrulls to call home, doesn't make any sense for her to follow a infinitely slower ship around from one place to another. She could have literally scouted hundred of planets and returned in a few hours to days with the perfect home planet and then set out on their journey. Instead, the story is to have us believe that it took her what, 40 years?
On top of that, Captain Marvel in the Comics is Mach 3 according to the Databook. That is all. To assume that they made her 300,000 times faster then her comic variant, for some odd reason, defies ALL logic.
Also when you consider that the Tesseract is the Space Stone it makes total sense that that would be an energy source capable of light speed travel.
The space stone allowed to teleportation, not light speed travel. It has never shown a speed ability.
@Aristeaus: Her powers literally came directly from the engine which released energy when she destroyed it. But you are also needlessly splitting hairs here; the light speed engine was powered by the Tesseract so the energy source is the same. Her powers came from the engine I.E. they came from the Tesseract. The Tesseract powered an engine capable of light speed so whatever you deem the ultimate source of Carol's power it does not invalidate that she was powered by an energy source capable of powering light speed travel.

A ship that was only stated to "possibly" go light speed. It never went a fraction of that speed.
So... The Ship never showed light speed travel.... The Tesseract never showed light speed travel.... CM never showed light speed travel...
All you have is a potential statement from a ship powered by the Tesseract. Her gaining her powers from the Tesseract does not mean she duplicated the abilities of the stone, nor does it mean she is as powerful as said stone. Otherwise the Maximoffs, who, also have their powers from a stone, would not have had varying powers, and would have been mind related.
Your arguing against the feats, much like the Thor wankers.
@heatforce: I’m pretty sure people are just using FTL as shorthand for “light speed” but yeah you are correct about that.
@heatforce: relativistic flash? Lol
Say she can't go FTL
literally goes FTL
Buddy.. the entire premise of the movie was to develop a lightspeed ship powered by the Tesseract. That, is not said ship, nor is the Tesseract on board.
Not to get into the science of it, but thats not at all FTL. Accelerating instantly at 1/3rd the speed of light would look like that. You know, like lightning, which is also 1/3rd the speed of light.
Where are all these FTL statements coming from? SoL sure but FTL - please explain.
Superman is most likely Relativistic in scaling from the Flash who generates blue shifts. So Carol being SoL means she would win.
If she's just SoL it would take her over twenty thousand years to reach the nearest galaxy which completely contradicts the sup plot of the Skrulls finding a new home in another Galaxy where the Kree can't go after them
@cyberpunkcop: so in other words it's like CW Flash dodging lightning and only being mach 5 or something via statements? Ehh I still say we need to see more feats though before feats override in-universe statements.

Pretty much
