Yeah, pretty much (Read the last panel to the right in the scan below). We can at best argue each as their own individual person, but as a species, they are the exact same beings.

I find it interesting how Pre-Retcon has been re-interpreted now.

Back then, Post-retcon was simply weaker because he was an aspect of a cosmic cube, whereas Pre-Retcon was the embodiment of an entire realm.

Now, Post-Retcon is identified as one part of a whole species who was deluded to think he was all-powerful, whereas in the context of Pre-Retcon his word is deemed true at face value.
