Poll Better Melting Feat: Akainu Melting a Sword or Natsu Melting Glass? (25 votes)

Akainu 56%
Natsu 44%
No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Akainu melted a sword of metal and Natsu melted a hole in glass. What makes this impressive, beyond the high melting points of both substances, is that they both did it with incredible speed, and both have grown stronger since these feats. But they both have unique aspects. For Akainu, it's that he melted the sword without making any contact whatsoever with the metal. For Natsu, it's that he didn't actually summon any fire, but instead used his body temperature to melt the glass.

Which of these two feats do you think is better?

Tough one, I'd say passive melting is greater than what Natsu achieved though.

I mean google says glass. That's thread. That is also far from natsu's best evaporation feat.

I'm actually happy you pointed this out because weapons are quite clearly amped by Haki in all around stats like Shanks blocking Akainu's kill shot to Colby with his own sword. And I have multiple scans that state or show this.

But nope. But people well try to use these weapon moments as anti-feats or "inconsistencies"

Passively melting steel sword looks more impressive. But how is the guy holding the sword doesn't have a scratch on him if it's passive? Or maybe some lava got to the sword and it wasn't passive?

Nothing proves that fodder coated his sword in haki. Not like it's that impressive anyways.

@cosmicemperor: I'm talking about Shanks obviously coating his sword in Haki to block Akianu.

The point is Shanks used a sword which didn't melt.

I think you misread what I typed entirely.

Akainu vaped steel whilst not touching whereas Natsu melted glass while in contact with it. You do the maths

What does Shanks have to do with this?

@cosmicemperor:

Shanks used a sword which didn't melt from Akainu's heat.

Which means he used Haki to amp his sword. Which goes back to my whole point of people trying to low ball One Piece with weapons as if they have a set speed, power, durability or whatever.

I have multiple scans that prove this. Shanks sword not melting is just another add on to that list

Did you not see the two feats being compared? What you're talking about has nothing to do with this thread.

@cosmicemperor:

Don't care. My comment was never aimed to answer question. Thought that was obvious.

If you want my answer, neither feat is all that impressive. If you want actual good heat feats bring up Akianu Punk Hazard feat or Natsu Collosuem feat.

@ecoblitz: It's impressive but no where near Akianu's best feat is all I'm saying.

He obviously has a much much higher ceiling then this as does Natsu.

Akainu passively vaporizing metal just by being in its general vicinity is clearly better
