@frenzyflame: and aokiji flash froze an ocean
@frenzyflame: but my fridge can’t flash freeze water… or anything really lol or make ice that is far harder than steel
@kelchingout: that is not quantity vs quality lmao. He flash froze the water, it’s far harder than steel, it was in a tropical area, it was under direct sunlight and would still no sell it for minimum 5 days, it was still so cold that aokiji advised them to get much warm clothing. That is not just “qUanTiTy” like you’re trying to make it seem.

To be frank all those specific things is pretty much the same as what Silver did, except he flash froze a giant mountain of hellfire and Natsu tired himself out trying to melt it to no avail, it was at a desert area, and it probably lasted for far longer too probably, considering it was long enough to affect Atlas's memory.
@yamatama: thing is we don’t know how long it took him or how much effort, for aokiji we see that he literally did it with extreme ease and barely took anything out of him plus the fact that it’s a freaking ocean and despite being under sunlight still requires people to pack for a winter environment
@ecoblitz: finally someone who points out the obvious.
We have no idea how long that took Silver. Based on his level of ability? A while.
Aokoji stomps spriggans, never mind Tartarus members

i get what you're saying, silver's duration was due to "magic" tho, not the actual temperature or potency of the ice
my opinion = fax
ur opinion = creditless
We know it was basically instant considering the giants describe it as such, and were on their way to defend, when mid movement their all flash frozen.
Don't see how the effort put into it matters when just looking at the feats nor do I care.
Yes, a small part of the ocean, only lasting for about a week. He didn't actually freeze an entire ocean.

Only special thing about Silver's ice is that it's devil slaying, and that doesn't give it any special property over regular ice magic other than the obvious devil slaying.
Wait a minute, freezing a village with no specified time is better than freezing a massive part of the ocean instantly? Village over ocean? Nani?
Lmao.
Just going off what we know kuzan by far.
Ocean/continent> city
But we don’t know how hot the deceased atlas flame was
Did he really freeze a continents worth of water?
So far as I've been able to find there's no specified exact distance of the water he froze. But there are some scans that show he froze multiple islands' worth of water at least on the surface length-wise. There's no way some guy at regular height could tell if he froze a "continent" or not since he could see even less of the ice than we could on-panel. I don't know the width of his flash freeze either.
Aokiji's seems better. Also I don't really get this weird skepticism surrounding such an explicit statement. Aokiji turned the sea into a continent of ice, that is verbatim and intentionally put into the dialogue by Oda. This was the first time we've see an Admiral in action in the series at the time and the scale that an Admiral operates at, so the intent is clear. But there is obviously supplementary evidence like the ice covering the AoE of multiple islands and the ocean between each along with what we know of the horizon at sea level being 50km in OP and the Ice Age AoE extends far beyond the horizon from a far far higher viewer height.
@cocacolaman: By calcs, By statements, he froze a Continental wide area. The whole point of the travelers statement is reaffirming what he sees beyond the horizon, to what could look like the size of a continent, and the fact the average horizon for the One Piece world extends dozens of kilometers, Aokiji most definitely froze thousands of kilometers worth of area.
Aokiji didn't freeze the entire ocean tf!?
More like a distance between 8 islands or so..
That said, aokiji's feat is better. The range is very impressive (a small country size area if I'm not mistaken). Silver's ice maybe tougher tho but I'm not sure.
