Clark punches his head off. No argument can be made for Mario here. Mismatch.

Like a few people have stated before: This is a mismatch and deserves an immediate lock.

Mario is far too powerful for Clark.

Mario beats Supes 10/10 times

Metal Mario, Golden Tanooki, Golden Racoon, and Mega Mushroom all give him invincibility. Blitzing is out of the question when all the item needs to do is touch Mario to power him up. As the op says, Mario has ALL his items except stars and wishing items.

Not that it matters since Mario is not fast enough to use any items before he gets bullrushed, but all invincibility can do for him here is delay his death until it wears off.

This. This is a pretty huge mismatch in favor of Superman, specially with his morals off and him being bloodlusted.

Whilst my Mario knowledge is limited, I'm pretty sure he isn't fast enough to use any of his invincibility items before Superman blitzes him.

@lvenger: Mario's passive abilities and powerups such as invulnerability are always active. His active power ups like fireballs and intangibility he has access to.

Ill clarify this in OP. Mario's powerups are part of his character for this battle, not something he has to pick up. Ala rpg Mario or smash Bros Mario except extended

@cor_tsar: They aren't automatically active in any Mario game I've heard of but whatever, it's your thread. So if Mario has invincibility passively on and presumably can't be deprived of oxygen, how is this a fight? Clark can't hurt Mario outside of a heat vision lobotomy maybe so this is basically a stalemate.

@lvenger: in smash Bros, rpgs and sports games he uses fire attributes, his cape, fludd, etc etc, without picking up powerups.

Mario's invulnerability has a limit, has to, otherwise nlf, just don't think it'd be an effective attack to blitz close range given it's effects. Mario has attacks that can one shot Superman, but he's slower for sure. However he has more versatile maneuverability, such as clones, invisibility, hiding in other dimensions, and intangibility. Probably his most basic to understand and hardest to disprove, but one of his more mid tier speed feats is escaping a black hole out side the Schwartzchild radius, so not ls, but some estimate sub relativistic

So either Superman breaks through that invulnerability and damages Mario enough to ko him or Mario tags him a couple times. At least that's how I envision it. Other people have different opinions on the subject

@cor_tsar: OK so invulnerability has a time limit, I can work with that. In that case, once Mario's invulnerability wears off, Superman kills him. Mario's not fast enough to react to Superman otherwise and isn't likely to land any hits before Supes hits him.

In each and every super mario game i played on the supernintendo, stars were automatically activated instantly, and it was a one touch kill on everything. Following that NoLimit, he wins. Otherwise supes just waits for it to fade.

@lvenger: what? No, it has a durability limit, not a duration. Everything has a durability limit. And I'm pretty sure everyone who comes across a character with nlf, they use their highest showings and gauge off of that

If not, Superman blitzes and one-shots.

Why is everyone accepting a NLF for Mario while he wears certain suits?

@hittheassasin: show me supes busting multiple planets in one blow. Even better, show me supes ranged multi-planetary attacks. Just because it has an upper limit doesn't mean it's also not offensive.

Superman punching Mario would more or less hurt Superman.

I would post feats, but when I do threads end. Plus Mario high end feats get dismissed disregarding supporting evidence due to toon visual nature of Mario games

@cor_tsar: Again that wasn't clear from the way you were describing his invulnerability. So in that case, can Mario's invulnerability tank multiple punches that can send someone from the sun to the Earth at FTL speeds?

@lvenger: He is going to say yes but he is wrong lol. He has a very inflated view of Bowser and scaling in the verse in general.

Your interpretation is right; this fight is a mismatch, invulnerability or no. Time limit just means Supes has to wait it out before he wins.

@amendment50: it doesn't run out, there's no time limit. Mario's invulnerability items are part of his character in this battle, same with other powerups, they will not run out, Superman's fighting invulnerable Mario, because generally Superman's invulnerable.

@amendment50: I've read his thread on his opinion on Bowser's power scaling so I get what you're saying. As for the invulnerability thing, I was just getting confused by exactly how he was describing Mario's invulnerability. Regardless of whether there's a time limit or a durability limit to it, I can't see Mario beating Superman before Clark blitzes him.

@captfalcon725: I consistently learn more about the character. Like how without invulnerabitlity items he's been knocked planet to planet, he's survived an actual interstellar black hole, he's bounced off the surface of the sun, and his body is malleable enough to be completely flattened and him walk it off.

So the more I learn the more the fight becomes reasonable enough to bump it, the two have even enough stats(Mario's knocked a multi ton turtle from one planet to another, that's just one strength feat), though superman is faster, Mario's notably tougher when composited . Mario also has magic that would potentially one shot supes. So it's not really a mismatch id say.

Why is he being pitted against herald level characters? most of his in game feats aren't that great. (other than an outlier here and there)
