Battle Ideas Thread
@Nelomaxwell: your new thread got me thinking that Vampire Hunter D vs. Guts would make for a good fight
Does this sound like a fair fight?
Red Robin (Tim Drake) vs Nightwing (Richard Grayson) early years before he settled into Blüdhaven.
A comparison of both former Robins finding their feet as solo fighters? (I know later on Grayson is considered almost at Batman's level by the time of Batman Inc)

The Question, Batman, and Daredevil vs V(V for Vendetta), Rorschach, and The Punisher.That's not a good fight team two has only 1 person on the level of team 1. Question was trained by one of the best if not the best fighters in DC. @wellzy4eva said:
Dick is and has always been a better fighter than Tim. Depending on the Prep Tim could I guess keep up with Dick but Dick's tangled with dudes like Deathstroke and talon's on the fly. I mean the prep depends but In Grayson's first NW comic he cleared out black gate prison. Take that as you will.Does this sound like a fair fight?

Mxy vs. Franklin Richards?
Good idea or mismatch?
Which Frank? I think it's good to be honest but I think Grown frank would be a better fight.

Not too sure which Franklin I'd put.
I'd say do a two rounder. One child one adult. see how it rocks.@Nelomaxwell said:

Atlas vs. World Breaker Hulk?
How durable is he? I'm guessing he is strong enough to lift the earth on his shoulders?
@wellzy4eva said:
Who is considered a fair fight for Daredevil?
Not really sure about a 1 on 1 fight but what about hawkeye (no trick arrows) and bane (pre 52 with no venom) vs daredevil?

I don't know if it's the same Atlas.
I was talking about the Atlas who's a Superman villain. He's seems like he's stronger than Supes.
@jashro44 said:
@blackadamFTW: Sounds like a good fight but you may have to show some feats for atlas. He isn't used as much as hulk so people aren't to familiar with him.
That's true. At this point I've only read about him. He seems very interesting and powerful, but I really don't know too many feats for him. He seems to have taken on a couple kryptonians, which is pretty impressive, but that's all I have.
@jashro44 said:
@blackadamFTW:Well it does sound like a good fight imo if he is stronger then superman. Could be interesting.
Yeah. It would either be the extreme of "WWH wins, effortless curbstomp" since a lot of people wouldn't know much about Atlas, or "Atlas wins, effortless curbstomp" since people on here don't like Hulk that much.
@jashro44 said:
@blackadamFTW: Well hulk does seem to be getting more respect around here based off of the recent hulk vs thor (no hammer) and hulk and thing vs thor thread. But the former might be true though.
I'll make it at some point, and see how it goes!!!

@blackadamFTW: Sounds great! We need more threads with different characters besides the over used ones (thor, superman, spider-man, wolverine, etc). Hopefully someone knowledgeable on atlas will see it.
I've threads with people like Jack-In-the-Box, Anarky, and Time Trapper and people haven't really commented. Hopefully this will be different!!
@jashro44: Why don't we make a little known character's tourney. What do you all think ?
@Nelomaxwell: Not sure. Most tournaments begin with people creating a thread to recruit more people from what I have seen. Not sure how many people we need exactly though.

Great! We can probably start coming up with the rules and guidelines here.
Hunter Rose Must be in it. Let's make it a street level tourney. Since Black Adam FTW put up Jack in the box.@Nelomaxwell said:

Okay here's my idea. we have people bring out a street levelers that are non mainstream no marvel or DC. No one with a level of technique or weapons above say nightwing. And then we establish guidelines.@Nelomaxwell: Not sure. Most tournaments begin with people creating a thread to recruit more people from what I have seen. I think we should have a run of at most 12 characters.@Nelomaxwell: Not sure. Most tournaments begin with people creating a thread to recruit more people from what I have seen. Not sure how many people we need exactly though.

Should we throw out characters? Or should we allow other people to to do it?

I think that makes sense. Do you want people to just choose their own characters? Or do you want to make a master list that they choose from? I think you'd probably get more obscure characters if people can volunteer their own, but on the other hand people may choose characters that are not as obscure as they think, or might not fit otherwise.
What do you all think of making a list of possible characters as examples. Then contestants can choose from that list, or propose one they thought of themselves that was not on the list. That way people can at least get a sense of the kind of character we're thinking about.
My four
X (Dark Horse)
Hunter Rose (Dark Horse)
Hardware (Milestone)
Kabuki.(Icon)
@Nelomaxwell said:
@Owie: @jashro44: We can each come up with 4. then allow people to come up with like another 12 right, we don't want it to be too many it'll take to long. They should also list what company they're from. My four X (Dark Horse) Hunter Rose (Dark Horse) Hardware Kabuki.
Should each person who's in the tournament get to use one character, or a team? It might be more interesting if each person gets 2 or 3 characters on a team.
I just put together a huge list of random characters I've used in the past, but I'll list 4 here:
Miho (Sin City), Devil Slayer (Marvel), Tank Girl (various publishers), Human Fly (the stuntman version) (Marvel).
When you guys are saying 12 characters, do you mean 12 players in the whole tourney? Generally you want 16 players so it divides evenly each round: start with 16, half lose=8 left, half lose again=4 left, then 2 lef, then winner. If you wanted a short tourney (since so few actually end up going to the end) you could allow only 8 players.
@Nelomaxwell said:
@Owie: I don't know if we should use Marvel characters. I like Devil Slayer though. Hmm. Teams you want to do it like Beat Boks' tourney?@jashro44:
I was thinking of Geraldthesloth's tourney. Teams in the sense that each player gets more than one character. Marvel characters can be obscure and little used too. I guess I was thinking about using tourney to shine a light on characters that most people don't know, even though they've done interesting things. The Human Fly, for instance, was a real guy who was a stunt man, and they made a comic about him.

@Nelomaxwell:
I was thinking about how using obscure characters might affect tournament play. There are basically 2 kinds of obscure characters: characters that have only been in a couple of issues, and characters that have been in many issues but for whatever reason many comics readers don't know about them (they're from smaller publishers, or from a long time ago, etc.) How do you think we should deal with characters from the 1st category--characters that have only been in a couple issues? It might be hard to debate for or against them in battles because they have so few feats.

I think it should be the latter.
Take Hunter Rose. He's got books in print that people can pick up and read if they wanted to and Bio that explains his deal.
@blackadamFTW: @jashro44: @Owie: I think we're going to need characters with some re searchable info and feats like Jash said. We don't want to make it too hard for people. Take Hunter Rose. I think we should try and get scans of the characters we are using that way people will find it easier to research the characters.
Should they all be characters Available on the site?@Nelomaxwell said:
