If he's fast enough (or if Midnighter doesn't rush him), King should win every time. Haven't read Authority: Prime #3 yet, but I think they're about to go at it if the end of the last issue was any indication. Gage has been really good (and not just in this book) about how characters match up and how fights go so if they do throw down it should be telling.

I agree with you Buck but in this new mini it seems Battalion has digressed, powerwise, since his days in the Monarchy. So I figured the fight would have a more even playing field with his weaker(original level) powers.

There's no real fight, but you can see what Battalion can do to Midnighter.

He starts out by stopping Winter, then Battalion does his stuff. (Was so glad Team Achilles wasn't forgotten.)

The two are interrupted (by Apollo) so Midnighter takes on Hellstrike.

Midnighter takes King's brother down.

And we get teased. The never get to go at it.

There are other good fights in there (Jenny tosses around antimatter, Habib dies and comes back to life, Winter shows Apollo up, etc). Next issue: A Blue Lantern shows up and Midnighter fights Midnighter!

Yeah, me too, but if Battalion had lost his team would have had to step off so it could only have ended with Midnighter losing. He probably would have lost anyway(though you never know), but if he had to lose then it takes some of the fun out of it.

If you like violence and or anti-heroes then definitely. Even if you don't you still might like it.

Great point.

Realistically, Jackson King could just tk hold Midnighter in place, or explode his head.
