Batman vs Detective Chimp

A criminal is on the run. Batman challenges Detective Chimp to a "Detective Championship". The first person to find the criminal is the winner. Takes place in Gotham. Morals on (to interrogate people to find locations). I guess this is a battle... anyway, WHO WINS?

Considering what tools they have at their disposal, his deductive and inductive reasoning are significantly better. Batman quite often relies on his technological tools to tell him more about the crime scene. It essentially comes down to whether you think using tech makes you a worse detective or not.

@jacthripper: Well he doesn't always rely on tech for his deductive reasoning. In fact stuff like the Batcomputer just makes for less work. He still needs to know what to look up, has to find connections on his own, etc. He has a ton of feats where he's found things out by pure senses. He nearly found the Court of Owls as a kid. Seen through superhero'so disguises. Figured out their powers, solved many crimes that seemed unrelated, etc. He has many accolades of praise being the best detective. Not to mention he has superheroing to do ontop of detective work. But again, idk much about Chimp.

Batman. With or without tech.

By actual feats, he's the world's greatest detective. Period.

And for the record, that scan up above - the one showing Constantine being taken to Detective Chimp - is absolutely not mainstream canon. It happened in the Injustice universe. That version of Bruce may very well not be the greatest detective in his universe.

I would say neither is better than the other in any much significant way.

Detective Chimp has a slightly better deductive but Batman can hold his own pretty well.

Batman made all his tech for his detective work to fill in all for his limitations on the fly. So everyone who says that Batman relies on his tech cant be taken as a criticism as he made his own tech and that's something that makes him better at his work as he deals with his limitations with his other skills at science and engineering.

On a purely deduction based test, I'll say detective chimp has a slight edge.

But as an overall detective showdown I'd give Batman a win.

Detective Chimp, anyone saying otherwise is just biased.

Bruce uses his wealth to create technology that makes him a much better detective than he actually is and he's still inferior to a chimpanzee.
