Taking up their mentors mantles... Dick becoming The Dark Knight... and Bucky becoming One of the Greatest All-American Hero... in a fight who would win?...
im with dick... not just that i am a big dc fan but... how long has dick been nightwing?... and how long has bucky become winter soldier... based from experience and skills i think dick wins...
If it was a match to the death, Bucky wins hands down, because he was trained to kill first and ask questions never. I don't know much about Dick but from what I do know he was taught by Bruce never to kill. So I don't know if he could win since it would go against his earliest training, but wheras for Bucky it is second nature. So in that aspect Bucky is victorious.
its all bout experience... sure dick was not trained to kill.. but he was trained to the take the upper hand from his opponent... and also dick has knowledge of combat tactics...
I think you guys are underestimating Dick i think he would have a real chance of winning.
"
He does..I just give the edge to Bucky because of his bionic arm and the fact that he has a fire arm...so Dick has a problem in both long range and close range scenarios...I can see Dick winning if Bucky ran out of ammo though..
While I like Dick very much, I will bet all my money on Bucky. And stop it with Dick having more training and more experience. Bucky has been trained since he was a kid by the american army, before he even met Cap. Then he was sent to train with the british SAS. Then there was the Cap training, and then the war. And I'm sorry but you can't beat years of being in the front line. After that, he was trained for years by the best russian soldier and doctors. So I think it's pretty clear who's the most experienced fighter here. Sure Dick is good, he's got neat gadgets and all. But nothing that can beat the shield. So, Barnes wins, hands down.

I was about to say... I was reading this thread and it seems like a lot of people don't really know anything about Bucky's history... at all. He has definitely had more training than Dick.

Thanks SystemID (That your real ,name or a glitch? Cause it's awesome XD) I'm glad someone else knows his (her?) classics. And I wanted to add something about Bucky being able to fight dirty without caring much about honnor but I don't think I know Dick enough to go there.
@FinalStar86: I know the panel and everything says he is fighting dirty. And I am not debating that Dick won't fight dirty. I'm just saying that I don't see what is considered to be fighting dirty in that fight. Nothing shown seems to be a dirty tactic there.

Nope! No glitch. =) It's from the best (and most under rated) RPG that was ever to grace the PS1... Xenogears! And I am, in fact, a dude.

Titans 29...
Twas excellent. I was really hoping Dick would stick it to Slade.
I agree though. Dick was fighting dirty. Anyone here ever been punched in the ear?

...that s#$% HURTS. "
Yes. As well as the groin, the throat, the kidney, and legs. I don't see those as dirty tactics when you are fighting. Now there is the key word to catch onto. Fighting. Not sparring, not practicing. But fighting. A fight is all or nothing you don't take chances, it's all game. A dirty tactic to me would of been poisoning him, calling for help. Dick is not even using things from the utility belt..

LOL. ...like I don't know what the difference between a fight and a sparring match is. I'm not gonna go over why (again; on the vine) BUT YES, punching someone in the ear is considered a dirty tactic. Especially the way dick does it in the picture. You can give someone serious brain damage very quickly like that. It's called street fighting. No holds barred.
What your talking about is called being an underhanded p#$@%. Big difference.
@Andferne: ... You're probably right. I was refering to the way other heroes (SuperMan, Cap America ...) treat their enemies. Most of the time they just stand there, trow a punch or two and then ask the enemy to stand down. I always though it was pretty stupid but it looks classy and clean (or so some poeple think). So Batman is just fighting, but in comparision to the DC/Marvel world, it can be considered dirty. Me I just think he's doing great.
@SystemID: No what I am talking about is real down to earth fighting. What you are thinking and wanting is fighting with rules and structure. You might as well throw them into a cage and have it a UFC match or a boxing ring if you want 'fighting' to be your way.

I am just informing you that it is called street fighting for a reason. Which is what Dick and Slade are basically doing. Dick is pissed about Damian. So he's fighting Slade "dirty." It is considered "dirty" in this situation because Dick normally doesn't fight to injure. Which is exactly what he is trying to do in this particular fight.
Fighting to injure is considered dirty fighting by anyone in the Bat family. And most civilized people for that matter...
I'm not exactly sure why that's so hard to understand.
I get what you're trying to say.. but the term still applies in this situation.
@SystemID: And as I mentioned on the previous page. I know that the scan says that he is using dirty tactics. But in a real fight there is no such thing. You fight to stop the aggressor as fast and effectively as possible. That in no way makes you a underhanded p#$@%.

But we aren't talking about a real fight.
We are talking about a fight involving Dick Grayson (or any other knowledgeable fighter with a strong moral code). That's what makes it dirty.
And no. You're right. That doesn't make you a BLANK.
I was saying that poisoning someone before you know you're going to fight them does. That makes you a P%$#%. But... that's my opinion.
