How does he beat classic Cage?
Someone said that classic Luke was 3 tons.The scans you posted clearly show him to be above that by a large margin or was classic Thing also weak?
I'm not really sure. Everyone said that he was weaker but if he was able to do that to Grimm then I don't see it. The scans were from some of Luke's earliest appearances in the early 70s. I know classic Thing was around 5 tons but not sure for Luke's classic levels.

Well if Thing was just 5 tons then i can see a 2-3 tonner rocking him like that.
Classic Luke Cage was actually around spider-mans strength, being 6-9 tons. Also Bane is still a lot less durable than Cage, so Bane would still loose.
Cage should win normally but what if you take into consideration of the PIS, and WIS of Banes new 52 Venom? The one that should never have happened in the Dark Knight.
By the way, Ben Grimm was NOT the Thing at the time. He had been depowered and was wearing a 'Thing' exoskeleton which was only a fraction of his strength when the fight with Cage occurred.
Cage had also been written as much stronger than 3 tons. That Marvel Universe entry was virtually an insult but it is what it is.
The THing was only 5 tons in the early 60's. He was most likely around 50-75 class for most of the late 60's to the early 80's.
