Azazel in the film has a dead man like ability. He can possess (take control) of any living person via touch or if in spirit mode by direct possession; killing him while he is in a host boy does not kill him and he can just enter a new body. His weakness is that while in spirit mode he cannot survive for very long and will die out if he does not get inside another living host. The film says he can survive in spirit form for as much time as one breath can sustain him; so think of it as if you were in a tank with water with only one breath. Azazel, is very arrogant, enjoys singing and likes to corrupt people. Throughout the film he chooses to torture the protagonist by framing him for murders and even goes out of his way to kill his own brother. Azazel however can be defeated if somehow u get him to an isolate area devoid/no life within a given vicinity and trap him in a body that is dying. This was the protagonist plan at the end of the film but he ends up failing due to a cat being nearby and Azazel manages to jump into it before heading back into the city. This is one of those films where the good guy loses in the end.

Last thing i forgot to mention that might play importance here is that Azazel gains all the memories of the person once he inhabits their body.

Well he gets full control of their body and memories once he possesses them. In the film, he is shown to posses humans and animals as their are no superheros in said film. This was a supernatural/crime movie in which the bad guy was a demon that was taking over human's bodies and using them to commit crimes.

The name of the film is called Fallen (1998). The main protagonist is played by Denzel Washington.

The Avengers lose. They can't win. The most they can do is hope he possess Tony and Tony having ordered his suit to just fly into space beforehand. That is the only way they can win. It's far more likely Azazel possesses Thor or Hulk and then proceeds to torture and abuse everyone else for laughs.
