Aang & Katara vs. Korra & Asami

Asami is fodder and Korra gets double teamed by two people on her level. Kataang stomps 10/10.

Aang & Katara vs. Zaheer & P'Li

Very close fight. If the starting distance was 50 feet, I'd back P'leer, with P'li providing the firepower and Zaheer stalling forever. At twenty feet however, P'li goes down more often than not... unless Zaheer starts carrying P'li on his back or something. Probably Kataang extreme dif 6/10.

Aang & Katara vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan

Ghazan gets wrecked by Aang, Ming gets wrecked by Katara OR Ghazan loses to Katara and Ming gets wrecked by Aang. Kataang low-dif 10/10.

Aang & Katara vs. Toph & Sokka

Aang solos easily. Kataang stomps 10/10.

Aang & Katara vs. Zuko & Mai

Mai is fodder. Zuko loses badly to either opponent, let alone both together. Kataang stomps 10/10.

Korra & Asami vs. Zaheer & P'Li

P'li one shots Asami and Korra gets double teamed by two opponents on her level. P'leer stomps 10/10.

Korra & Asami vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan

Asami gets wrecked and Korra gets double teamed. She's individually superior to either of them, but she's not beating both together. Team Red Lotus mid-dif 10/10.

Korra & Asami vs. Toph & Sokka

Korra over Toph with this much water, and Asami over Sokka. Korrasami high-dif 8/10.

Korra & Asami vs. Zuko & Mai

Korra over Zuko with this much water. Mai over Asami, because Asami isn't agile enough to evade for long, however Mai can't really contribute to Zuko's fight with Korra. Korrasami high-dif 9/10.

Zaheer & P'Li vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan

P'li one shots Ghazan and Ming gets double teamed. P'leer stomps 10/10.

Zaheer & P'Li vs. Toph & Sokka

P'li or Zaheer solos. P'leer stomps 10/10.

Zaheer & P'Li vs. Zuko & Mai

P'li or Zaheer solos. P'leer stomps 10/10.

Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Toph & Sokka

Sokka is fodder and Ghazan and Ming are awful match ups for Toph. Team Red Lotus 10/10.

Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Zuko & Mai

Mai is outclassed, and Zuko can't beat them both. Team Red Lotus 10/10.

Toph & Sokka vs. Zuko & Mai

Toph over Zuko with difficulty. Mai over Sokka, but he can stall her for a bit. Probably Tokka 6-7/10.

1. Aang & Katara vs. Korra & Asami - Aang and Katara. Katara beats Korra with water extreme difficulty. With Aang's help, done deal.
2. Aang & Katara vs. Zaheer & P'Li - Aang and Katara. Aang wrecks Zaheer. Katara stalls P'li, then duo gang up on P'li
3. Aang & Katara vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan. Aang is a good counter to lava, so he beats Ghazan. Katara beats Ming Hua high difficulty.
4. Aang & Katara vs. Toph & Sokka - Either Aang/Katara solo.
5. Aang & Katara vs. Zuko & Mai - Either Aang or Katara would either Mai or Zuko.
6. Korra & Asami vs. Zaheer & P'Li - Asami is a serious weak link. Korra would take time to beat P'li but Zaheer would beat Asami quickly and if he ambushes, they can take it.
7. Korra & Asami vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan - once again, Asami is a serious weak link, Korra would take time against Ming. RL duo gang up.
8. Korra & Asami vs. Toph & Sokka - Korra beats Toph. Other matchup is more or less irrelevant.
9. Korra & Asami vs. Zuko & Mai - Korra beats Zuko.
10. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan - At this short distance, Ming can beat P'li, maybe Ming and Ghazan win.
11. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Toph & Sokka - Zaheer solos.
12. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Zuko & Mai - Zaheer beats Mai, P'li can beat Zuko probably.
13. Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Toph & Sokka - Ming Hua solos.
14. Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Zuko & Mai - Ming Hua solos
15. Toph & Sokka vs. Zuko & Mai - Mai drops Sokka, Toph takes Zuko high difficulty.

@geekryan: Can Zaheer fly for the purposes of this thread?

1. Aang & Katara vs. Korra & Asami - Asami will get taken out by either before anything else
2. Aang & Katara vs. Zaheer & P'Li - Either can beat Zaheer, but P'Li is a problem and they're pretty close to her and she's faster than CM (who was too much for them). Could go either way.
3. Aang & Katara vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan - Aang can beat either and Katara holds off the other (she might lose to Ming, but Aang beats Ghazan faster).
4. Aang & Katara vs. Toph & Sokka - Sokka's a weak link.
5. Aang & Katara vs. Zuko & Mai - Mai is a weak link and either beat Zuko due to environment.
6. Korra & Asami vs. Zaheer & P'Li - Korra can't take both and Asami gets dropped fast.
7. Korra & Asami vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan - Again, Asami is a weak link.
8. Korra & Asami vs. Toph & Sokka - Asami beats Sokka, Korra beats Toph due to water source.
9. Korra & Asami vs. Zuko & Mai - Korra beats Zuko with this much water, and I don't see Mai beating Asami fast enough to do anything against Korra.
10. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan - Either can deal w/Zaheer but P'Li is a problem this close. I see Zaheer and P'Li winning.
11. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Toph & Sokka - Zaheer can beat Toph even if Sokka hits P'Li. RL wins.
12. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Zuko & Mai - Zuko could beat Zaheer w/o flight but P'Li is too strong and I don't see Mai being much help.
13. Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Toph & Sokka - Sokka is outclassed, RL wins easily.
14. Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Zuko & Mai - Eeek, which this much water Ming is too strong, and Mai won't stand a chance.
15. Toph & Sokka vs. Zuko & Mai - Depends on who beats who first. If Mai can beat Sokka before Toph beats Zuko (high-diff) I can see Maiko winning. But I can see Sokka stalling Mai long enough for Toph to take Zuko too.

@geekryan Not surely, just more likely. Toph does not do so well against opponents that aren't grounded, such as Aang, Zaheer, and Ming (especially with this much water). Same could go for Katara and Korra due to the water source, although I think them vs. Toph would be very close. Also, there's no way Toph would be able to tag Zaheer if he has flight. Toph is one of the most powerful benders in the series, but in a fight, an opponent who can exploit her weakness has a solid chance at beating her.

The two bender couples are always gonna beat the bender/nonbender couples, and out of the bender couples, Katara/Aang is probably the strongest, though a flying Zaheer + P'li are honestly right up there with them. Ming Hua and Ghazan are a dangerous combination, with Ming's speed and Ghazan's raw power, but they don't have the quantity of feats to quite match up

Out of Korra/Asami, Toph/Sokka, and Zuko/Mai, these would be interesting fights. Mai's maybe the best of the non-benders, and arguably the most helpful in a bending battle (since she can attack at range most effectively). If Mai can beat Asami or Sokka soon enough, she can double team with Zuko against whoever his opponent is. But I also think that Zuko might lose to Korra/Toph 1v1, eventually, so it could go either way

Aang and Katara would win all of their matchups on account of having the best average. Not only is Aang potentially the most dangerous bender here, the duo itself is the only one composed of two higher end masters. Besides them two, I see Ghazan and Ming Hua defeating everyone else they go up against, mostly because of Ming Hua's superior threat level.

Korra coupled with Asami is not particularly different than Korra fighting benders of this calibre on her own for the most part. Much like Toph's team with Sokka - fortunately, both Korra and Toph are rightfully on the very top of the bending world. Zaheer with his mobility and P'Li with her combined skill and power might be too much for either of them handle, though. Zaheer would require Toph's complete attention to deal with, for obvious reasons, and their combined forces would get behind Korra's defences well before she can make use of the ample water source here, which will most likely be the case if she has to go head to head with Zuko and Mai too, although I'm far from sold on this. However, I will give Korra and Asami the benefit of the doubt against the Red Lotus because of the distance - Korra putting up a strong defence and Asami closing in on P'Li to take her down is far from improbable. It shouldn't be too hard to close 20 feet for her with Korra running interference, leaving Zaheer to go solo against her, which will not bode well for him.

Mai and Zuko are also very well suited to fight Zaheer and P'Li. At 20 feet, P'Li's powerset is severly restricted, and Mai is more than capable of killing her right there on the spot, leaving Zaheer to deal with a (much) more powerful bender than himself, and the greatest markswoman in history together. I do think Toph could take down both Zuko and Mai, even though she would go down to Zaheer and P'Li because of her disability rendering her vulnerable to Zaheer.

Someone who can only properly fight those who touch the ground vs someone who doesn't need to touch the ground is not going to be a close fight.

Katara,

Katara's every bit as powerful as Toph is and has shown more creativity and combat intelligence in fights, although Katara vs Toph is a very close match that largely depends on the environment. It just doesn't matter here, because Aang is there.

Korra,

Even more powerful than Toph + pseudo-flight via water spout.

Zaheer,

Flight.

Ming Hua, etc...

Extremely agile. I don't think she'd solo Toph in this environment (not enough to swing on), but Toph would need her full concentration to fight her and she can't fight her and Ghazan at the same time.

• Aang - Extremely agile, he is generally an air borne fighter, and he can very well abuse Toph's weakness. Also, I'd say Air Aang is the best bender given in this list.
• Katara - Certainly as powerful as Toph is, and like @mialthefencer said, I felt Katara to be more creative in combat. With a lot of water to work with, I feel Katara gets enough ammo to beat Toph.
• Korra - With a river to use, Korra's water spouts would give Toph a hard time to tag her. Korra has shown a lot of raw power throughout the series which can help put Toph down.
• Zaheer - I'd clarify one thing before I get into it, she would be able to win against benders that are on Zaheer's level, but his flight advantage makes him possibly the worst matchup for her.
• Ming Hua - Extremely agile, with good enough supply of water she has, she might give Toph a run for her money. Anyway, they still win since Toph would get ganged up quickly.

2. Aang & Katara vs. Zaheer & P'Li- Team ATLA with high difficulty- P'li is strong but she loses to Katara with that much water and Aang is better than both. Zaheer is a pain however and can draw the fight out.
3. Aang & Katara vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan- ATLA team, both are better than either Ghazan or Ming Hua
4. Aang & Katara vs. Toph & Sokka- Sokka is fodder, Toph loses to both, and to Aang in a bad stomp.
5. Aang & Katara vs. Zuko & Mai- Either Katara or Aang solo, team stomp
6. Korra & Asami vs. Zaheer & P'Li- P'lheer win due to asamis non factor status.
7. Korra & Asami vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan- Korra cannot fight both Ming Hua and Ghazan at the same time with only waterbending.
8. Korra & Asami vs. Toph & Sokka- Asami beats Sokka, Korra beats Toph through water spouts.
9. Korra & Asami vs. Zuko & Mai- Korra should handle Zuko with mid-high difficulty but Mai can beat Asami. Korrasami should win.
10. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Ming Hua & Ghazan- Team P'lheer, P'li can blow up Ghazan fairly quickly leaving Ming in a 2v1.
11. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Toph & Sokka- 2 benders vs one means TLOK team win.
12. Zaheer & P'Li vs. Zuko & Mai- See above
13. Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Toph & Sokka- See above
14. Ming Hua & Ghazan vs. Zuko & Mai- See above
15. Toph & Sokka vs. Zuko & Mai- Probably the closest fight here. Toph is the strongest here, but the location is less than ideal for her, and Mai is definitely better than Sokka. I can see this going either way tbh.

@marvelfan1992: i dont think she can do that before pli blows her water off, regardless of how skilled she is with it, Ming does bend on a smaller scale than any other waterbender (top and some mid tier) we've seen, her evasion won't be as useful here when there are no corners or objects to swing off plus the fact that p'li can curve her own attacks and she's very accurate with them, zaheer is also the perfect counter for ghazan. There's no way they can win TBH

@aystarr Ming can glide around on her water slide so I think she can get around fast enough to take Pli out.

Ming's water slide isn't that fast:

She's not reaching P'li before P'li can fire with nothing to swing on.

Also, Zaheer can intercept Ming pretty easily, or even fly P'li out of her reach.

The only person she missed who was just running was Kai, and that was from hundreds of feet away with her smallest blasts. And dodging blasts is different from doing so while closing the distance. If Ming is coming straight at P'li, she's much easier to hit than if she is maneuvering from side to side. And again, Ming's water slide is slow and relatively linear, unlike the movement of those that dodged P'li's blasts. I could see Ming taking P'li down from 20 feet in a forest, but not in an open area with nothing to swing on.

Also I think it's more likely that P'li one shots Ghazan while Zaheer intercepts Ming rather than the other way around, because P'li has the fastest draw and projectile speed and Zaheer has the fastest movement speed, meaning they choose the match ups, and they know their team mates.
