Welcome to the Armstrong Academy

No Caption Provided

The Armstrong Academy is a scenario based "tournament" that takes place in the 'Armstrong' Universe -- a world created by me for the purpose of this scenario. In this world the participants play the part of students attending the prestigious Armstrong Academy, a school dedicated to helping younger individuals (ages 13 - 18) hone their skills and abilities in hopes that they one day become active members of the Hero Program.

Throughout the scenario the participants will have plenty of chances to interact with one another and wild non-player characters controlled by the host(s) to forge friendships, rivalries, and to ultimately push their personal stories forth as each participants discovers their place within this world.

Setting

This scenario takes place in the year 2242 on Trion, an Earth-like planet that lay beyond the Outer Rim. Those who settled Trion were affected by a unique radiation emitting from the planet's core; as a result, 72% of Trion's population have developed physical mutations or otherworldly powers -- these individuals are known as EVOS.

To protect the planet from themselves the acting government on Trion established the Hero Program, allowing for individuals to pass a series of physical and mental exams in order to obtain a hero license. This license would allow the said individual to work as a peacekeeper of sorts, either independently, or with an agency. The program proved to be a massive success and quickly became a core component of Trion Society, with the most powerful and well-known Heroes becoming household names.

Of course there are drawbacks -- those who seek to do harm or have criminal intent are now far more dangerous than before. On top of this there are some in the non-powered minority that see EVOS as a threat, and as such anti-EVO groups have been established in certain settlements.

Regardless, being a member of the Hero Program is something that many young EVOs strive to accomplish, and as such, many of them attend schools dedicated to improving their skills and abilities. The reason for joining is unique to the individual, some do it for fame or status, others do it because they feel a responsibility to help those weaker than them -- of course, you will find your own reason, and perhaps discover that the Hero Program isn't the path for you.

Scenario Rules

These are the rules of the scenario.

Posting Rules

  • Posts should have an element of RP (role-play) to them, there will be a Discord Server in which participants can 'interact' with NPCs.
  • Include a tl;dr that clearly states what you are trying to accomplish at the end of each post. I do not want to misinterpret and action simply because I read the RP incorrectly.
  • Tag me in your posts.
  • Avoid meta-gaming; if you present information in a post that your character would not have in-verse then that portion of the post will be ignored and your action may be altered.
  • Failure to post for several advancements may result in your removal from the scenario.

Combat Rules

  • Fights will largely be determined in CAV style matches against other players or non-players/hosts.
  • Players can attack (and be attacked by) other players and NPCs. If a player or an NPC witness an attack happening they will react accordingly, you have been warned.
  • If you enter a fight with a foe who is drastically stronger, or weaker, the debate process may be skipped entirely in order to save time.
  • Post deadlines will be rather short for combat situations, this is to prevent any fight from taking too long. If a deadline is not met then the result of the fight will be determined based on what HAS been posted.
  • Death is a possibility in this scenario.
  • Looting may be done on a case by case basis.

Story Rules

  • Your actions have consequences, you may ruin a potential path with a certain individual or group if you make the wrong choices.
  • NPCs are to be controlled by the host players. If you as a player attempt to force an NPC into performing an OOC action then it will be ignored.
  • If you take an action that may be considered world breaking then that action may be ignored.
  • Not all NPCs have the same character build limits as players. They may have powers that don't refer to a specific character that allows them to do something simply because a host claims they can.
  • Have fun -- it's important!

Character Creation & Class System

To partake in this scenario you must first build your character, doing so by following the creation system and build rules listed below.

The first choice to make in the creation system is choosing your class. Your class will determine the limitations of your body, skills, and powers. There are detailed limitations for each class, so review them and find the one that best fits your play style. Don't stress too much about creating a "perfect" character -- as a host I feel that too many users strive to create 'unbeatable' characters instead of creating enjoyable characters that add elements to the story being told.

There will be opportunities for your characters to grow (level up) throughout the progression of the scenario; however, begging for such upgrades is discouraged and may delay the point at which you receive such upgrades.

Aside from the mechanics, please provide an image of what your character looks like and a short background of who they are, where they're from, likes/dislikes, etc. I can provide general information about the locations of Trion if asked, so please ask if you're curious, and lastly, you will be attending a high school on Trion (Armstrong Academy) so keep in mind that your character's age is likely between 13 and 15 years old.

NOTE: If you want your character to be a different 'species/race' then talk with me -- the world of Trion is a blend of fantasy and science-fiction, with the power manifestations of some individuals altering their appearance to be more fantastical or mutated. Just let me know and we can try and work something out within reason.

Here are the general rules for each part of character creation.

Body

First you must choose a body. The body is where you get all of your physical attributes, including the following:

  • Strength - How hard you can hit (striking) / How much you can lift (lifting)
  • Speed - How quickly you can move (travel speed) / How quickly you can react (reaction speed/combat speed)
  • Durability - How hard you can get hit (blunt/piercing resistance) / How other effects may affect you (elemental/poison/etc., resistance)
  • Senses - How you perceive the world around you. Some senses may be too great and will be considered a power because of how enhanced they are (being able to track people from blocks away or read minds because of how well you can hear are examples of this)

For each of these categories there are specific limitations. Be sure to look at them and follow them. It may be tempting to try and find a body that gets as close as possible to all of these limits. I suggest you use a body that you're comfortable with that is well within the limits, you will have opportunities to enhance your physical attributes during the course of the scenario.

You may not choose a body like Superman and NERF them down to the limits.

Skills

This scenario will is handling the skill system and skill-sets in a way that is more reminiscent of table top RPGs such as D&D and will utilize a dice roll system to determine if certain actions are successful or if they are failures.

COMBAT SKILLS: Your combat skills will be chosen by taking the combat skills of any character whose fighting abilities are within the skill limitations, this is because the majority of fights will be handled in CAV style matches. As an example, if you chose Batman for your combat skills then you'd get his martial arts ability, his marksmanship, etc., but you would not get his detective skills, his computer skills, etc.

The list below includes the limitations for combat skills:

  • No skills that allow you to memorize/copy/replicate the skills of other players just by observing them. This goes for characters like Taskmaster or Jin Mo-Ri.
  • No skills that include mystical abilities/chi-amplifying/accessing the 'limitless potential' of your character, etc., anything of this nature is considered a POWER not a skill.
  • No skills that exceed the limitations of your physical body. If you chose Professor X for your body and then picked the skills of Spider-Man then he would not be able to perform his acrobatic feats; his body wouldn't allow him to.

Follow those rules and you'll be okay.

NON-COMBAT SKILLS: All non-combat skills will be handled by the roll of a dice. Certain classes may offer a proficiency or bonuses in these skills that can add to the roll of the dice to increase a successful action chance. It is also possible to gain more skill bonuses as story rewards.

A list of non-combat skills and their general descriptions will be provided below. It is possible that you may attempt an action in which I will ask for a certain skill-check, resulting in a roll. You may also attempt a certain task and ask if you can apply a certain skill to potentially increase it's success.

  • Animal Handling - The animal handling skill allows you to tame the creatures native to Trion. Those with a high animal handling skill may be able to obtain animal followers that will aid them in various situations.
  • Bluff - The bluff skill allows you to hide your true intentions from other individuals. Those with a high bluff skill can easily trick less insightful persons or even feign death in combat.
  • Computer Science/Hacking - The Computer Science/Hacking skill allows you to navigate advanced technological systems with ease, you may be able to bypass a security system, gain confidential information, or manipulate robotic entities. Those with a high Computer Science/Hacking skill may have an easier time navigating some of the technological mega-cities on Trion.
  • Diplomacy - The diplomacy skill allows you to change the minds of others, another name for it would be persuasion. Those with a high diplomacy skill can win over even the most stubborn individuals.
  • Driving - The driving skill allows you to drive/pilot various vehicles on Trion. Those with a high driving skill can expertly maneuver any craft that they pilot.
  • Engineering - The engineering skill grants you the ability to build or deconstruct technology and machinery. Those with a high engineering skill may be able to modify robots or weapons, or to build new vehicles.
  • History - The history skill grants you knowledge of the history of a certain person, place, or thing. Those with a high history skill are able to recall information more easily about the world of Trion.
  • Insight - The insight skill grants you knowledge on the true intentions of someone, allowing you to determine if they're lying or telling the truth. Those with a high insight skill can accurately deduce the intentions of those around them.
  • Intimidation - The intimidation skill allows you to intimidate another into helping you or performing a desired action. Those with a high intimidation skill can force foes to flee in terror.
  • Intuition - The intuition skill grants you knowledge on an opponent or a mission, allowing you to deduce how dangerous something might be or to determine what someone's weakness or strengths are. Those with a high intuition skill can gain addition information on various situations and opponents.
  • Investigation - The investigation skill allows you to inspect a location or an area to try and obtain more information from it. Those with a high investigation skill may find clues more easily and can locate hidden rooms/pathways that a common investigator may miss.
  • Medicine - The medicine skill allows you to correctly assess a wound or ailment and provide treatment. Those with a high medicine skill may be able to treat severe ailment or injuries with improvised materials.
  • Performance - The performance skill allows you to entertain other individuals. Those with a high performance skill can dazzle any crowd and win favor among groups with their stellar displays.
  • Slight of Hand - The SOH skill allows you to pickpocket or reverse pickpocket. Those with a high SOH can easily plant/steal larger objects.
  • Stealth - The stealth skill allows you to sneak throughout your environment more easily. Those with a high stealth skill can more easily infiltrate secured areas and may avoid combat because of it.

NOTE: A power may negate the need for a certain skill-check, for example, an individual with technopathy may not need to provide a skill-check to hack a basic security system or a computer, or someone who can manipulate animals will not need an animal handling check in most cases.

Powers

Some character classes have access to powers. There is a high degree of character specialization in the creation phase for this scenario. As you grow and learn in this world you will gain more versatile abilities; however, these abilities will stick to a specific theme, similar to how the quirks of characters from MHA develop and become stronger.

Regardless of what class you choose the following power limitations are in place:

  • No reality warping
  • No time travel/time manipulation
  • No probability altering
  • No pheromones
  • No teleportation
  • No power stealing/copying/duplication
  • No insta-kill moves (tele-frag/death touch/etc)
  • No internal attacks (blood bending is an example)
  • No offensive intangibility (attacking while intangible)
  • No precognition (future sight; Spider-Sense is okay, a danger sense is okay, but nothing that tells you exactly what is about to happen and let you plan 5 moves ahead constantly)
  • Telepathy is limited to street level telepathy such as Gorgon or Mister X. Cannot use their power to attack, only read minds. Limit may be reduced as scenario progresses, and some characters may have a natural resistance to telepathy.
  • Telekinesis cannot be used directly on people or gear. Strength of telekinesis is limited to that of their physical body as per build requirement. Limit may be reduced as the scenario progresses.
  • Stat amplification cannot exceed limitations of the body.
  • Healing Factors cannot be so great that you can regenerate from a single drop of blood or a small piece of flesh, killing blows should incapacitate or KO at best.
  • Energy Absorption & Projection is limited to tank busting blasts. If a blast has more power than that you will be unable to absorb it all and will be hurt.
  • Magic is a case by case basis, talk with me if you wish to use magic. It is very likely I will not grant ALL the abilities of a magic user for your base power, an example being William Gravel -- you could perhaps get his TK or his Gun Charging, but not all of it for one package deal.
  • Invisibility cannot make it impossible to sense your character. You can be 100% invisible to ONE sense, but not all senses. So if your character cannot be seen, they must be able to be heard, smelled, etc.
  • Summons/Cloning/Duplication will be dealt with on a case by case basis depending on the number and strength of the summons/clones/duplicates in question.

Other powers not listed here may have specific rulings, but those will be found in the class selection.

Character Classes

As part of character creation each participant will choose a character class -- this decision will dictate the foundation of their character build and will determine their strengths and weaknesses.

A classes skill point count is for each participant to spend on the various skills listed above; some classes will have bonuses to certain skills w/o having to spend any points.

Bio

Height: 5'6

Weight: 120 lbs

Age: 15

Born into a wealthy family Vivan wanted for very little, she was afforded the best education and teachers that money could buy. She was nicknamed Torch by her friends and family thanks to her bright read hair and shining personality. Vivan could make friends easier than most and she always seemed to know the right thing to say to stop an argument.

Vivian was liked to tinker as well taking apart random pieces of machinery around her house only to improve upon them or just put them back together again. She would often get in trouble for taking her Dads motorcycle apart to put it back together again.

On her 12th birthday when blowing out the candles she accidentally awakened her fire element and caused her cake to burst into flames. As she grew older she worked and matured her fire element until she could do many different things with it, she could even form a giant fist out of fire

Vivian comes to Armstrong academy with a natural affinity towards building things as well as being able to speak eloquently. She learned some basic first aid techniques from her mother but she hopes to improve upon those more at the Academy as well as her natural affinities.

Gregorio Trimble, the Island Agent

Backstory

The Mile Isle, an island that was one square mile, was a densely populated island in the middle of an ocean off in the Southern East. About 3,000 people were residing in every acre, making it the most densely populated place in the world. On Mile Isle, it's cultural tradition that twenty male children are sent off to the mainland to make a living for themselves, while twenty female children are sent to a random island to live for three months by themselves, where they will then return to the island either with newfound knowledge to help support the future generations, or will be murdered for not bringing something new to the table. Gregorio Trimble was one of the male children sent to make a living for himself, but his astute memory was good enough to remember the exact path back, ten years later. He was the first person to be on the mainland and come back to the Mile Isle. He brought diseases, killing most of the island, and enslaving the rest to him in fear of his now-godly figure.

Gregorio became an assassin known as Island Agent. He got a personal record for his client, killing thrice the number of the previous record holder in a third of the time. He became rich; rich enough, in fact, to have surgery performed on him. The issue was, the surgery had one unforeseen consequence; it gave him EVO powers.

Things are fine from there. He had powers; it's not the worst thing! But near the end of his life, when he had dementia and has become rather forgetful and illogical, he was suddenly attacked in the night. All he remembers is a flesh-void face, scowl unwavering, and a curse: "He who hath shown mercy not/let his age be that which rot!"

Waking up the next morning, Gregorio found himself 14 again! He doesn't even understand it, and the subsequent effects on his mind don't help, either. His mental age and his physical age are juxtaposed and are starting to turn his mind into something else entirely. His mood swings like children on monkey bars, his once-prestigious intelligence dips and rises, and the one person who he thought would have his back, his client, isn't helping him when he needs him most.

Not relevant, but Gregorio Trimble is actually the name of a character I plan on using in a novel or comic book, once I polish my skills more and get on the way to typing up something worth publishing.

Class: Elemental or Empowered, depending on what is allowed.

Body: DCEU Batman. I shouldn't have to explain in too much detail. He fits nicely in the limitations.

Power: Wendy Marvell's Sky Dragon Slayer Magic. Specifically, the stuff that allows her to boost stats and heal, though I won't complain if I can also get the air eating.

Skill: MCU Hulk. A savage beast who attacks relentlessly with no regard to who his enemy is.

Non-Combat Skills: TBD.

@thetruebarryallen: Thoughts on Mao Pam's wings as a power (for the summoner class),

They seem decent -- for the sake of character growth I would probably limit all the things they could do off the bat and grant more abilities for them as your character trained in-verse.

I'd probably limit the Slayer Magic to have less versatility at the start of the scenario, and as your character progresses and trains/learns you could possibly unlock more of it's abilities.

From what I got off of skimming the RT it seems like she has some sort of air bending?

Alright, cool -- obviously not making an 'final' decisions right now since the start of the scenario is ~2 months away, but I don't seen any problems with it right now.

@thetruebarryallen: I like any excuse to write something so made this a few months in advance haha - would the build be all right?

Trevor MacKenna

Born into a family of gangsters his grandad had been a respected name on the roads back in the day. There's a saying "Beware an old man in a profession where men usually die young," well auld Frank was untouchable. He was merciless but there was a graceful art to his brutal methods. He approached all obstacles with the tact of a businessman and the savagery of an animal and he lived a long life. Business was assumed by Trevor's father, himself an intimidating man and a considerably powerful EVO. Since EVOs starting developing the dynamic of power shifted across the planet, from the top brass to the poorest slums. The "MacKenna Mafia" - initially an ironic term that became more and more solidified - made use of local EVOs as muscle.

Trevor was born a twin and the youngest of 4 brothers. David (his twin), John (older by two years) and Michael (older by 5 years) displayed signs of being EVOs like their father, Trevor did not. The life they lived made the grow up fast and strong. By the age of 10 Trevor was a trained killer. He was exceptional. Having trained harder than any of his brothers he'd honed his skills to a degree non-bar (maybe) Michael. Though, he could not beat any of them. No matter how much harder he worked or how much better he became he could never beat them in a fair fight, so he decided to stop fighting fair, change the game and play by his rules. The eldest Michael, respected Trevor more than he ever let on, and would be in his corner when the other two were not. John had no particularly strong feelings about Trevor, he loved him as a brother but saw him as weak even if he did not say it. David and Trevor however (as twins) had a bitter and competitive relationship. Their dad developed a crippling neuron condition when they were all young the family mantle was assumed by Michael when he was only 17. Growing up Michael was untouchable. Though, younger David was probably stronger than John but all three together could never even scratch Michael. He died aged 19. A car bombing at his father's funeral. A second bomb was meant to detonate and kill Trevor and his other brothers but failed.

The aftermath of michael's death tore the family to pieces. Each brother intended to take over from their Michael and tension became conflict. So they fought... They been fighting each-other their entire lives but this was the culmination of a lifetime of conflict. They loved each other but in that moment there was only spite and resentment and hatred and Trevor won - a shallow win. He almost killed his twin brother when they were both 15. Trevor walked away from that life after that day but he still had something to prove. He was better than his brothers. In spite of all the odds stacked against him he prevailed. Through sheer force of will he had made himself more than the hand he had been given. So he would make something more of himself than anyone else, even auld Frank. Trevor had no interest in becoming a hero but he would be better than any of them.

  • Class: Fighter
  • Age: 16
  • Body: Guts (Berserk)
  • Skills: Solid Snake (MGS) & Berserker (F/Z) combat skills
  • Weaponry: Halo Loadout: Covenant Carbine, Magnum, Energy Sword and 2 Plasma Grenades - I know technically several items but as none of them are particularly incredible considering what would be available within the parameters would this be allowed?

Do you have any feats for the weapons -- last time I played a Halo game was 3 and I wasn't paying attention to 'feats' so I'm not sure what the novels/comics/etc., say about them -- I'm sure it would be okay and I wouldn't have a problem with it given the strength/versatility of each item.

Guts is probably fine though I'd need to check an RT to make sure, and I don't think Snake or Berserker have combat skills that'd be broken.

As long as none of the attacks are above tank busting then it seems fine right now.

@thetruebarryallen: would a composite 616 RT node and Codpiece’s... codpiece (no suit)... be allowed for gearhead?

EDIT: also for gearhead, would I be allowed to swap both gear slots for a suit (something on the low end like MCU Iron Spider for example)?

Undetermined -- attempting to keep power creep to a minimum. I feel that scenario participants in a lot of cases become too powerful too fast so I won't have an end-goal limit and will simply let it progress naturally as I see fit.

I'm not sure what an RT Node is, the Codpiece is probably fine.

Not sure if I'd want to allow an entire suit in, as building a battle suit might be a part of the Gearhead character growth.

@thetruebarryallen: I'm kind of confused with the casual and non-casual bullet dodging that you listed down for speed. Like, I know someone who is definitely street tier, but I have no idea if their speed is acceptable based off of the terms you wrote. Like if you had to associate a certain amount of speed (say in Mach numbers) to casual and non-casual bullet timing, what would it be?

Like would non-casual bullet dodging translate to Mach 1 combat speed while casual dodging translates to Mach 3 or something.

The reason I'm asking is because I know a few versions of Batman [DCAU] (who you gave as an example) that are capable at moving to speeds similar to that of fired bullets! Like, he's still street tier, but I have no idea if that's what you would constitute as casual/non-casual bullet timing.

If a character can perceive bullets in slow motion and move between them then that'd be casual bullet dodging -- characters like Cassandra Cain or Iron Fist can do this fairly easily and both have several point blank bullet dodges.

Meanwhile a character like Captain America can 'dodge' bullets but isn't going to easily dance through them.

I don't like using Mach Numbers for character speed because a majority of the time comic bullets don't translate well to their "true" speeds and there are too many variables, in my opinion, to give an honest definition of their calculated speed.

again looking for more excuses to create characters but i think this one is a lot more interesting and in-keeping with the theme of the scenario. I do have a few questions about the scenario though: did you consider composite classes? for example a gearhead-infiltrator would essentially be a Batman-build in this scenario, someone relying on a bit of skill and a bit of technology to achieve what they do. I know it's hard to actually pull of in practice and I can't see myself choosing it as my class but was just curious more than anything

  • Non-combat skills: +5 computer science/hacking, +5 engineering, +3 stealth, +2 SoH and +2 diplomacy
  • Personality: Incredibly intelligent and savvy he has a blasé and care-free attitude however he is youthfully naive in many respects. Curious, mischievous and chaotic but he does display a certain degree of motivation when it comes to his craft. Though recently more disciplined his natural penchant for troublemaking can still get him in problematic situations that, as a quick-witted natural improviser, he often wriggles his way out of. Most of his decisions (for better or for worse) stem from him rejecting the possibility of a boring life.

Born and raised on the streets of Trion, Gary is among the minority who remain unaffected by the unique core-radiation. He is however exceptionally smart and, quite indisputably, a "little bastard," as most adults fondly refer to him. From a young age seemingly discontent with a normal life and unwilling to commit himself to anything Gary is - more than anything - a born troublemaker - quite the opposite of his father who is a hard-working disciplined but quite unremarkable local mechanic. He never knew his mum, she walked out soon after he was born. Growing up in a place where no one was expected to achieve more than the hand they were dealt it wasn't uncommon for kids to grow up with absent parents but it was rare for it to be the mother.

Gary had a chaotic youth. Constantly fighting, stealing or causing general mischief he often wound up getting himself in a predicament. Even more impressive than his ability to land himself in hot-water was his instinctive ability manoeuvre his way out of it both literally and metaphorically. Though extremely intelligent, Gary's lack of motivation consistently impeded his academic progress. He did however show an aptitude for design-technology. This became his only genuine passion. He started by stealing from his dads workshop. Then other workshops and scrapyards. Gary and his crew became accomplished thieves. Gary found a workshop for himself in an abandoned yard and started building in his spare time. In an old work-yard with stolen gearboxes, scrap parts and just a teenager he was a more gifted inventor than most of the planets best educated scientists or most experienced engineers. He eventually started selling his services which made much more cash than when he and the boys were pawning stolen goods who instead now stole them for Gary for a share of the profit.

Gary performed mundane tasks to procure the resources for several more ambitious hobbies but with local resources - purchased or stolen - he was only capable of accomplishing so much. Reverting to his affiliation for roguish methods, he planned a robbery on a much greater scale than any he or his crew had before. In typical Icarian they were caught. Gary faced serious legal consequences however an individual from the institution was curious why a small group of young teenagers attempted to rob a tech-research centre and by how successful the venture was, all things considered. Initially sceptical, Gary eventually explained what he intended to do with the stolen tech. Seeing the incredible feats of engineering in his workshop Gary was streamlined for an academic scholarship. The institution the youngster attempted to rob had strong academic ties. Not liking the idea of living in a rich school with pretentious kids but being presented with the opportunity to avoid legal ramifications Gary accepted a deferred entry to the Armstrong Academy. As much as justifies it himself and others, his decision to join the Academy was motivated just as much by his desire to not lead a mundane life.

The reason why I've split classes so much (and made a lot of variety despite the synergies that some classes would have with one another) is to encourage the formation of player parties/teamwork and to prevent a single class from getting too powerful with too much variety.

I think too many people 'play to win' a scenario when that's not how they should be (unless they're Battle Royale) which then results in people focusing on making a one-man army which is annoying to create challenges for as the host/DM -- it's hard keeping track of everyone's abilities to design foes/encounters for em, so I've tried to limit that as much as possible.

This is a little bit too rule heavy for my liking, can’t this be a little bit flexible with the limitations

Nope, because people abuse scenarios and I need limits in place.

I'm not sure what an RT Node is, the Codpiece is probably fine.

Not sure if I'd want to allow an entire suit in, as building a battle suit might be a part of the Gearhead character growth.

Took me a bit to find it, but you've seen the RT Node before, I used it in a previous iteration of this thing. Showed it to you on Discord. It allowed Pepper Potts to have a losing battle against Electro and Sandman - took a few hits from them IIRC. She had forcefields (breached by Sandman), limited magnetism, and amped her to bullet timing levels.

Would be quite interesting if there was a crossover with Babylon at some point 🤔

Ahh, gotcha.

It's probably alright then.

Well, I did make an Armstrong NPC the character I'm playing in Babylon. If the environment serves well then I wouldn't mind tying the two together somehow, of course the host would have to be okay with it as well -- but a big ol' Space Prison is always fun to have around.

Hmm. Reserve. Maybe I'll make my Babylon characters sister here.

Emiko Jin; Age 15:

No Caption Provided

Intro/Background:

*As if introducing herself to the class*

"Um, hello?" comes the nervous voice of the girl introducing herself, her right hand gripping her left arm. Her eyes shift around the class before slightly turning her head away as if to avert their gaze. "My name is Emiko," she continues after a brief pause. "I'm not really from around here, so if I seem a bit nervous it's because I really am... I've never been off-world by myself, you see." Her speech breaks off and picks up again - though it's hard to tell whether or not she's addressing the class or muttering to herself, "though thinking about it I guess I'll just have to get used to it..."

Then, as if noticing she was trailing off into a conversation with herself. "Ah! Sorry, right! I'm from a few planets down, the human colony on Astafar. I thought I was ready for this big a trip, but I guess it's really going to take some getting used to.." Emiko finished, her eyes downcast as she uttered those last words. "Honestly, I'm not sure if this is the right choice. Even so, I'll do my best! So, I'll be in your care!" Emiko hastily bows before quickly returning to her seat, her face flushed enough to give a tomato a run for its money.

Age: 15

Likes: Her family, Cotton Candy, Peppermint, Camping, Board Games, Animals

Dislikes: Mean people, Sour things, Sad movies

Background story - Abridged Version:

-After her sister's, Ena, imprisonment in Babylon Garden, Emiko became depressed and blamed herself for what happened to Ena. (Read the background for Ena if you want to know what happened there)

-After some time passed, Emiko resolved to follow her sister into Babylon Garden.

-Obviously, there were multiple problems with this. First, she was nowhere near fit to be in such a dangerous prison. Second, there are two options getting in; serious crimes or become one of the prison guards. Third, it meant practically exiling yourself from the outside world.

-Still, Emiko had made her decision and would not change her mind. After all, she couldn't just let her sister live out her life in such a place by herself.

-After much convincing, her father, Eiko, finally agreed to let her go; but only if she could meet his standard.

-The following months were met with grueling training with the sword.

-Emiko was already highly proficient with a bow, but Eiko knew that wouldn't be enough. Nor was she as strong or resilient as Ena, so he opted to train her in the way of the sword.

-After mastering her blade to the point Eiko deemed acceptable, her next task was to enroll in Armstrong Academy - a renowned educational facility a few planets over. It was here he hoped she would be able to broaden her horizon and gain experience on the myriad of abilities and fighting styles as well as the criminals she would one day be surrounded by.

Fighter:

Body:Greed/Ling(FMA)

Combat Skill 1: Legolas(LotR)

Combat Skill 2: Tanjirou(Demon Slayer)

Gear: Legolas' twin-daggers/bow, Tanjirou's Standard Sword

Skill-points: +5 stealth, +5 insight/+ 5 to Intuition

@thetruebarryallen: I just realized, in theory, couldn't a Gearhead take a cybernetic implant AND another piece of gear, kinda making the Cybernetic class obsolete? Like you allowed me the Repulsor Tech Node which is basically an implant (where Tony's chestpiece would be), and I could pick another gear (sad that I'm actually thinking Codpiece).

@thetruebarryallen: this looks like a lot of fun. If we have a character in mind that exceeds the stat limits, can they be downscaled to the correct level?

Reserve me a spot.

Though let me know if you need judges/bosses and I can switch to that.

if it took a few hits from Sandman thats class 100 durability feats... Sandman fights evenly with Ben Grimm for funsies when hes not jobbing to Spider-Man.

@supremegeneration: Oh, if it’s an implant then no, Gearhead can’t take it. I can clear that up in the rules.

@warlockmage: just reread the fight. Sandman restrains her in a blindside and she AoEs some discharge that floors him and Electro - they’re back up the very next page of the fight. They both fire, she dodges, but Electro gets her anyways and shes floored for a bit. Gets up, rushes them with a force field around her, slams Electro into the wall but Sandman reaches out and breaks the shield instantly, putting Pepper on the ground.

She gets up and is about to release something else but Electro has a gun to a kids head so she stops. A guy comes in and hits Electro a bit and Pepper disperses Sandman who is perfectly fine and reformed next page. Electro causes a blackout. End issue

Next issue she chases them but there’s no fight - she discharged some electricity but mentions that it only helped them get away (unclear as to how)

@menos_kegare: Only if a character could fire them at that speed for whatever reason, perhaps increasing their speed with TK or something.
