Pretty sure Ares is OP when he wants to be based on what he can do. He could win both rounds, depends if the team doesn't stab each other in the back when it matters (looking at you, Loki)

Round 1: Ares murders Hela and Loki and swats Thor accidentaly like an insect in passing.

Round 2: Godwave Ares tears the team apart.

The team is very powerful but Ares is too much, Ares solos.

The same thing that stopped Circe from doing shit like that, Ares is far more powerful. And the idea Thor could do jackshit because Diana has beaten him under extreme special circumstances shows very well that you know shit about Ares.

@thebuckaronatr: Still waiting,did circle ever try transmutation on him? does he have any transmutation resistance feats? Loki turned Borr, Skyfather level being into snow, pretty sure he can do the same to Ares in round one if he doesn't have any feats resisting such attack. With the godwave he's more powerful, normal Ares he's not beating the team.

Yeah - that would pretty much be my take. Seems like all of Ares' (much vaunted) power is purely theorical. Everybody and their monkeys slapbitches him down at DC's.

Neither of the team has a special weapon created to attack the true essence of Old Gods, nor any connection to the truth of the DB-Verse. Also has Ares no reason not to just erase the team.

Oh, and Wonder Woman never defeated Ares in a fight in post crisis continuity. Her killing him has been retconned.

Ares's power-level in standard position is not really impressive compared to the likes of Hela and Loki, - so the team wins under those stipulation.

In composite situation, well Ares has Godwave, but he lacks some high-order feats to compete, since composite Thor included Rune King Thor, Thor w/Blood of Ymir (which makes him a match for Celestials, character who would fodderize Ares) and so on, and that's not taking into account Hela's powers as well as Loki's.

With no feats because that part was obviously about round 1, Ares ignores standard Thor.

Because most people on this site knows Ares as a Skyfather level being in Marvel terms, due to stuff like this:

Technically most powerful versions gives Loki the IG so I'm really suprised that Ares wins. What're his feats?

Team easily stomps both rounds

ares stomps both rounds, most marvel gods are featless or relatively weak or are no longer gods anyway. i mean despite thor and loki being so called gods they have struggled with pretty much every earthbound superhero whether it is the strongest, weakest or average level earth superhero plus they are glass cannons especially to piercing attacks which ares can really take advantage of if he wants. he could use his superior speed and tk to even use thors axe and take out his entire team with it.
