prime apollo from rocky II.
prime drago
both have time to prepare/train and know what to expect.
location: standard boxing ring
@thedailybagel: Apollo was never in his prime during the Rocky films. He was 32 when he fought Rocky for the first time.
@thedailybagel: your joking right? Ivan can punch 2,000+ psi. Ivan didn't even take Creed serious in rocky 4; if he tried he would still beat a prime Creed inside of 3 rounds
@rogueshadow: Prime being, Creed was still a title holder who was still currently in training/fighting. And his movements throughout any of the Rocky's seem pretty consistent; ivan was just superior. (likely due to jucieing)
@vashtanerada88: What's that got to do with what I said? OP stated prime Apollo from Rocky II. We never saw Apollo in his prime.
@rogueshadow: because you said.
"Apollo was never in his prime during the Rocky films. He was 32 when he fought Rocky for the first time."
OP said, "prime Apollo from rocky II." I took, from this statement, as peak Apollo from Rocky 2 meaning; Apollo up to the final fight. By your logic, there wouldn't be any feats of a "prime" Apollo, we're meant to use Peak Apollo from Rocky 2. just a misunderstanding, but Ivan would still murder him
Still Ivan

Ah, I got you, you're probably right and that's what he meant. Due to the term 'prime', I assumed the OP was mistaken in thinking that Creed was at his carerr peak in Rocky II, even though he was really hitting the tail-end of his career. That was my point to the OP, we never see Apollo in his prime.
I don't disagree, Rocky became veritably superhuman in Rocky IV.
@rogueshadow: yeah, and you ain't kidding super human. After doing some poking around....
An average(rounded) strike for a boxer is at 776 psi; the heaviest hitters (top 25) were ranging from 1,000-1,300 psi
Ivan is at 2,130 psi; exerting around 8,600 lbs. force (4 tons+) with each punch
Ivan and Rocky spent 15 (3 min.) rounds slugging each other, and Rocky beat him outright
Still Ivan
Creed Wins IMO drago was super strong n could box well but creed was just the perfect fighter only Rocky will power bear him which also beat drago only difference is drago lasted one fight Apollo fought rock twice also a focused Apollo can take almost as much punishment as Rocky did ya not see Rocky and Rocky 2 ?? Broken ribs eyes swollen shut STILL FOUGHT ROCKY drago all he had was 2 cuts on face and was hurting u drago fanboys are ridiculous Creed will probably k.o drago in the late rounds if not by decision I dont see drago can beat a Prime focused determined creed its impossible when he got ass crushed to Rocky granted it was strongest Rocky ever been but still based on fights alone Apollo SHOULD win in his prime.
Apollo's son Vs Ivan's son for Creed 2! Make this happen!!!
Micheal B Jordan must pay for the crime of Fant4stic.
Creed MIGHT make it to round 3....then still dies
I like Apollo better, but my money is on Drago. Apollo may be faster, more technical, and more experienced, but he also has one critical weakness -- inability to take hits. Apollo is really bad at taking hits. This clearly shows in Rocky I and II. Drago on the other hand was tanking Rocky IV (who was MUCH stronger than Rocky II), at least in the beginning.
Apollo can’t knock him out. His best strategy is to game the fight for 15 rounds and win by decision, but with the explosive speed and length of Drago, that might be impossible.
Creed still dies. I don't really see him undergoing the same strength and conditioning training that allowed Rocky to survive Drago's onslaught and put the monster down. He might last a few rounds because of his skill and quickness but he'll get caught and pounded to oblivion eventually. Furthermore he's a cocky motherfucker regardless of the stakes and I won't put him past recklessly endangering himself to humble Drago.
Creed MIGHT make it to round 3....then still dies
Creed lasts longer but still loses.
Could go either way IMO. Prime Apollo is the most skilled fighter in the Rockyverse. His only problem is that he doesn't have the durability that Rocky does.
Ivan still beats Apollo. No contest. And yeah, his son should have killed Apollo's son too. Ridiculous. I mean it's not like we're talking some clunky over muscled slow poke when we talk the Dragos. We're talking finely tuned, finely skilled killing machines. Neither of them should've lost the fights they did in the movies either. P - I - S.
I think Apollo is very underestimated here. Apollo almost beat a prime Rocky (he would win if he kept his distance). On the other hand, Drago get beaten by 40-year-old Rocky who is past his prime. Even when he was 40 and was far away from his best shape, he tanked Drago's hits for a while. He's just the better boxer. A prime Master of Disaster would've beat Siberian Express.
He's arguably the greatest fighter in the series.
