Rick's strength is good, but it isn't anything compared to effortlessly tossing 30-60+ tonne tank, and Mercer's striking is much more devastating too (having taken out choppers with a single dropkick). Alex's regeneration from a nuclear bomb and after being hacked to pieces by James Heller (Mercer's superior) is a lot more impressive than healing a missing arm or leg, the wiki didn't seem to note on Rick's speed at all, where Mercer has reacted to RPG rockets, and was able to consume and transform into a soldier in less than second. Plus, Alex can leap above small/medium sized buildings in single bounds, wall-run, glide, ran as fast/faster than a speeding car after a five second build up, and his stamina is arguably limitless.
I really don't see how Rick can compare in anything, even in terms of intelligence Mercer was expert in the biology field not even counting the amount/variety of people has consumed, including doctors, military soldiers of basically all ranks, and more. Lastly, Mutant Rick doesn't seem quite up to this standard either, so at least based on the wiki, Mercer is literally superior in every way.
