Alan Scott vs Silver Surfer

then the wiki you checked seriously needs updating. he hasn't had a weakness to wood since 1982 and the sentinel upgrade. He has since then had 4 stories only showing a weakness, all retconned by Johns to be so because he was tired after long battles and believed he had the weakness, as a way of explaining poor writer .

The power cosmic at full levels vs the power of the starheart should be a good match. Both can draw on almost limitless power, both have a multitude of applications. Both are capable of regeneration (Alan once regrew an eye at will), matter and energy manipulation/transmutation, time manipulation, Blast, Super Speed, Telepathy, and blasting and shielding. At his peaks the reality warping of a starheart possessed Alan might be an advantage but that's only Bloodlusted. Too close to call

Alan Scott with control of the Starheart power will make it very interesting against the Silver Surfer.

1. Alan isn't "any lantern. he isn't even a "Green Lantern". He's the living embodiment of all the magic that was collected and contained by the Guardians at the dawn of time. The Guardians considered magic Evil and wanted to rid the universe of it.

2. When Blood lusted he isn't even Alan any more. He is the dimensional entity called starheart possessing his body.

Hard one, but mostly due to fact that Surfer should be able to manipulate any energy construct made by Alan.

@czarny_samael666: Alan Scott's energy is an embodiment of Chaos Magic pretty sure Surfer cant manipulate that, furthermore Alan can take over his body, he controlled the body of Dr. Fate and Obsidian with no problem.

As per where the scans from Beatboks1 is from, its JLA/JSA: The Dark Things, and that was a classic showing of what happens if Starheart, the sentinent chaos magic of all the universe, takes control. Entire DC earth was helpless.

He is closer to someone like Odin then Surfer.

From what I hear Alan Scott seems relly tough.

I'd say the reason for overestimation is normal power levels. without bloodlusting SS would take the majority in good fight. their power levels and abilities are similar. Blood luster Alan moves to a completely different level, it's not just an intent thing. I've said it before you should 't use a blood lusted Alan in battles.

No is not, why would you say that is not like Alan is on living tribunal level or scathan or other celestials.

Not too sure how Surfer would handle magical energy. If you can state definitively that he can manipulate magical energy then I'm going with Surfer as well.

Surfer with no morals should be near invincible.

I dbout that he can do that, I have to read that story before I will admitt that Alan wins, but it is highly possible.

I would say there is little doubt that in character Surfer would win after a good fight. They do have very similar abilities most of what Surfer can do Alan can and has done also. In character however Alan almost always retains some will power to control and contain the starheart energy within him. As such he never goes as far as he can. the only times that he has come close to showing his full potential have been when his family or those he cares for are in danger. Like when his kid's were threatened or his wife's soul was trapped in hell or more recently when the entire JSA had been trapped in dimensions by Mordru.

When Alan however get's blood lusted the starheart entity takes over. This means that all the frailties Alan normally has no longer exist. The fact is the only reason he has any weaknesses is his own Psyche imposing them. If he believes he has a weakness than he does ( that's how the few inconsistent writings of Alan still showing a weakness to wood have been explained by Johns- that he was tired after a long battle and still thought he had the weakness).

Also if you don't think Surfer can manipulate magical energy, how can you say he manipulates Alan's constructs when his ring and lantern are nothing but magic. That's the reason he's a member of the conclave and the Sentinels of Magic.

I completly forgot about it, my bad. Galactus was able to manipulate it and difference should only be in scale, but I am far from using it as a prove.

Can you expand on this? Does Alan not have the ability to survive in space anymore or something? I haven't seen much of New 52 Alan.
