Kaido wins every round. Luffy's current struggle doesn't necessitate that he'll struggle with Akainu, it might just mean that he'll handle the Admirals easily enough, or that they'll have to use other tactics to beat Luffy.
@jieldre: An old and sick WB beat Akainu who was beaten down from his previous fights and was barely even utilising his haki. Base Kaido is stronger than MF WB plus he has another form whilst utilising an advanced form of CoC and possibly CoA. I’m only basing Akainu from his feats on MF
Exactly what Expo said. Also, it's not realistic to assume that Akainu got much stronger after the timeskip, he was already over 50 and one of the Navy's strongest forces. It doesn't make sense to get that much stronger when you're already so old and experienced.

Akainu wins seems like the yonko saga is ending and Akainu will come after Kaido so going by anime logic Akainu should be a bigger threat for future Luffy.

@dbzfan44: Just because he is a future threat doesn't mean he is automatically stronger than Kaido because of "plot." Kaido took on all the scabbards, Law, Zoro, Kid, and Killer and clapped them all. Luffy is likely to fight Akainu on his own. You cannot just ignore that he got clapped Old WB because it doesn't suit your narrative lol

@lordvinsmoke: How does Akainu barely beating another admiral result in him gaining a significant power boost? If anything, he didn't learn anything since the fight was so dragged out and repetitive.

I agree with your guess and that's a real possibility, but unfortunately that's all speculation for now. Based on current feats, Admirals are just weaker than Yonko. Gotta deal with the facts.

If you think akainu is stronger because luffy faces him later then you should read the new chapter. Luffy isn't beating kaido (thank goodness) and he in fact just got clapped off of the floating island while kaido is upset for getting too excited for the fight showing that he wasn't fighting to his full capability
