Akainu vs Gray (speed equalized)

Honestly feel as though the only thing that wouldn't make this a fair fight is the speed problem. With speed equalized is Gray on par with Akainu?

FT top tiers have country level magic (Irene, August, Wal Icht had an etherion cannon on his arm, Brandish) and Acnologia was stronger than all of them. Gray is physically on par with FT high tiers like END Natsu who are a physical match for Akainu. And his Ice magic is a perfect counter for Akainu

Akainu's heat feats are massively superior to Natsu's, and Natsu was able to break melt Invel's ice. Invel being able to put out much lower temperatures than Gray, this is a full on mismatch.

Not saying Gray is stronger but don't act like FT and OP aren't comparable in high end feats. One piece is just more consistent

@valor_175: I disagree. I just think OP focuses more on feats than Ft. Most feats in OP have been replicated in FT minus speed feats (except for the dragons of course). And they usually fight in areas where they don't get the chance to unleash humongous attacks. Not to mention they only got on OP level during the final arc so they didn't have much time to work with regarding feats. August, Irene, Zeref, and Natsu all have feats that would put them on the stronger end of the OP verse. Heck Natsu even before the 1 year timeskip would oneshot almost any of the villians the strawhats fought pre-timeskip (barring admirals and such)

@comicvinepoozer1: Akainu full on sublimated steel weapons with just the passive body heat generated from his magma form, from several feet away. Natsu's only ever come close to that with his finishing move against Jacob Lessio, evaporating the lake with the fire blast, which was one of his strongest attacks.

He's also one of the physically strongest characters in averse where mountains are used as literal punching bags.

Gray's ice will sublimate instantly, and his bones will shatter if he tries to match Akainu's strength.

@flashingsabre: are you talking about when he was trying to kill Luffy? Because if so Natsu has comparable feats to that. Vaporizing a lake and sand (against Ajeel) is comparable to the iron sword that got vaporized. Vaporizing such a massive amount of water is just good if not better than vaporizing a iron sword. And Gray effortlessly freezes Natsu's fire several times, so even if Akainu has slightly better heat feats it doesn't mean Gray can't contend

And Ace, Jimbei, Luffy and others have survived hits from Jimbei.

Mountain level is kind of vague as they can vary in size greatly. Natsu's combined roar with Lucy and Windy (they were almost completely depleted of magic) was mountain level two time skips ago. If Grey can be physically even with Natsu he isn't going to stomped by Akainu.

No, it absolutely wasn't. Natsu never performed a single attack above town level. No human in FT is above city level at absolute best.

Natsu is physically below current Luffy, who is no match for Akainu, so no, the even weaker Gray can't keep up with him.

No one in FT can create Absolute Zero, so that doesn't even matter.

Akainu punched a hole in a guy made of fire with his heat.None of Natsu's heat feats come even close to that. Gray doesn't stand a chance.

Anyway, Akainu defeated the other Admiral, Kuzan whose Ice ability is much more superior to Gray's.

He did freeze Natsu, casually. He was able to break out of it after Gray and Invel were fighting for a bit. But he froze him and froze Natsu's max power outage. Not to mention he didn't even try freezing his insides only froze skin deep. And Gray's DS magic was shown to be superior to Invel. And it was stated at the end of 497 (or 98) that his power surpassed absolute zero. And Gray didn't freeze Natsu's attacks for "half a second" he froze all of them completely against a far stronger Natsu than base.

Yes it was, you can see it in the picture it was the same size as the mountains.

And City level and Town level are pretty vague terms. Mirajane was stated to be able to destroy a city during the zentopia arc

No, Gray was able to mimic Invel's ice (Like he did with Silver's Demonic Ice), and use it to make his armor as hard as Invel's, allowing him to bust through with raw physical power. It had nothing to do with how cold the gauntlets were.

A.) Mashima can't draw scale for shit. He drew Natsu the same size as a building during the whole War God thing, and then there's the nonsense with Irene's size changing meteor.

B.) Scans, because there were much ore destructive attacks that clearly weren't nearly as powerful as that.

3. You keep saying without effort. Akainu doesn't lower or raise his temperature if I'm not mistaken. So it may have been his max heat. Meaning effort or not, the outcome would have been the same

4. Natsu didn't burn anybody but Akainu didn't even burn the clothes off a fodder pirate nor vaporize the sword hilt.

5. That was during their second fight. During their first, Gray used his DS to outdo Invel.

6. Disregard the mirajane feat then.

We has Gray in one side who didnt show any range feat (by his current feats he is at best city lvl). So we use powerscaling and even with that he is only Mountain lvl...

Other side we have Akainu who has Large Island lvl feats, fight with Whitebeard who attacks are possible Continent lvl. By hype/powerscaling Akainu is possible country/continent lvl.. He would destroy Gary, their isnt a room to speak about Gray... You can probably add whole Fairytail guild and still Akainu would stomp them..

Sand doesn't vaporise, so that doesn't even make sense. Akainu instantly vaporised a steel sword by simply flying past it, a feat that would require temperatures easily exceeding 2,000+ degrees.

Also, as a OP you seem like you had a winner in mind because you made this thread while equalizing speed. You know a character was already at a disadvantage so you need another. That’s why you were defending Gray and Natsu left and right huh? If you have to nerf characters to make the fight fair, that just means there is a character that “should not” be fighting the other one. Looks like it backfired though.
