don't forget that you have to insert chakra into your opponent for genjutsu (Which isnt happening to the likes of any experienced bleach fighter) Lillie doesnt have to worry, Aizen Probably has some trouble but knows he is in an illusion. Yamato Passive heat bankai makes him brush it off (they aren't tagging him even with genjutsu). Gerad is Probably out of commission until he dies.

Amado was talking about what they do with the chakra tree, that's literally what Kaguya did with her tree when she ate it. So yes, it did get retconned.

Amado's speech clearly refers to the current world, where the Juubi would absorb the chakra of living beings, in the original world chakra did not exist, only physical and spiritual energy, which are the parts that form the chakra, the split tree absorbs it , but the chakra itself didn't exist, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense for Hagoromo to have shared the chakra with living beings.
