This is my first post here

Who would win in this duel.

In my opinion Aberforth was also a highly skilled wizard who was able to hold his end while fighting great wizards like Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald.

Bellatrix Lestrange in HP series has been defined as the most loyal servant of Voldemort not the most skilled one.

@fizhar8: Hi, welcome to the vine.

Nothing suggests Aberforth is remotely close to his brother. It was confirmed that Albus let himself get beaten by Aberforth because he felt guilty over their sister's death. His only feat is defeating Rookwood.

Bellatrix on the other hand has tons of feats, such as beating very skilled aurors such as Tonks and Kingsley and being the only one besides Voldemort who has deflected a spell from Dumbledore himself. She is not just the most loyal servant, she is shown to be the best duelist.

In short, Aberforth would not be a match for not her.

Hmm this is a good one they dont really mention to many feats of aberforth where as bellatrix is a constant reoccurring character with a few feats but she also got out dueled and killed by mrs. Weasely so i would give this to aberforth lol

P.s. welcome to comic vine

Did Aberforth not battle against Dumbledore and Grindelwald in a three way duel in which a stray curse (caster unknown) killed his sister? I would say simply surviving in a battle against those two puts him beyond Bellatrix. His Patronus is also incredibly powerful and was capable of repelling basically an army of Dementors.

@klaus: That battle happened off screen so we have no way to know how it went down. Logic dictates Albus was not actively trying to kill or maim his brother and if he was focussed on Grindelwald that means the latter could also not fight Aberforth to the fullest of his abilities.

Basically, Aberforth is kind of like Snape. He has a bunch of hype but nothing to back it up. His dueling skill is implied. Bellatrix'es is shown through feats. And quantifiable feats are better than implications.

As to the patronus, Harry did the same when he was in year 3 and not even close to a full fletched wizard. He saved himself and Sirius from a large group of dementors.

@cpt_nice:

I think Aberforth even thinking he stood a chance against Albus shows a lot about his duelling skill though.

@anthp2000: Not necessarily, Abertforth was described as rash, with a bad temper and someone who liked to fight to solve his issues. He would have fought Albus regardless of whether he stood a chance or not.

Bellatrix was killed by a Weasley so she doesn't really impress me. Aberforth could wreck her or at least be a match based on his cool feats.

There is only one true to answer. Alberforth has no feats.

Aberforth's only feat, IIRC, is repelling a mini army of Dementors with a Patronus. Bella wins.

The 3 way duel probably mainly consisted of Grindelwald casting deadly spells and Albus blocking deadly spells. With Aberforth throwing around spells at one or both creating confusion. However nothing suggests he was anywhere close to either of them. Albus and Grindelwald were probably too focused on each other to deal with Aberforth.

Anyways Bellatrix wins 10/10.

Bellatrix 10/10 low difficulty. Aberforth was nowhere near the level of Albus (though neither is Bellatrix). He's featless, she has the best feats after the big 3.
