Logically speaking, Aang‘s Avatar State shouldn’t do any better against Unalaq than Korra‘s did. The Avatar State grants the avatar “all the knowledge of their past lives” and therefore, Korra’s Avatar State would have all of the abilities and knowledge that Aang’s did, at least, at the point she fought Unalaq in B2.

I just noticed that they are fighting in a different location so that comparison isn’t 100% valid in this battle specifically.

I’d probably side with Aang due to the environment being a bit more attuned to all the elements.

I can see Unalaq winning round 1, but I have Aang taking round 2.

Unalaq removes Raava out of Aang

Unless he rips out ravaa Aang wins

Unalaq wins Round 1. His waterbending is flat out superior to Aang's airbending in combat.

Round 2, if we prescribe to Korra channeling Aang among other avatars at the time, than Unalaq should win, if not I think Aang has the feats to take it.

I don't really think Aang has a way to win this to be honest. I'd give it to Aang in a fight that doesn't involve the respective Avatar states, but as it stands, once Unalaq gets cornered, Vaatu would save him just like what happened against Korra when she overpowered/outskilled him blatantly only to be caught off-guard and lose the battle.

Tossup Round 1, perhaps I'll lean Unalaq just barely.

Round 2 Aang can win unless he goes close up and Vaatu is able to rip Raava out of Aang like with Korra.

A very fair point. I did not take this plausible possibility into account previously.

Aang for sure. If unalaq does not have the North Pole, aang destroys him with better speed, agility, and power.
