A Jedi Bracket
- Jedi are in their primes unless stated otherwise
- 30m apart
- Legends takes priority
Shaak Ti vs Jedi Exile: While the Exile is extremely impressive, many of her feats are quite ambiguous. I lean Shaak for consistency in a close fight
Kyle Katarn vs Satele Shan: Kyle just has better feats and accolades to his name. The amount that Satele grew after the Hope trailer is ambiguous. However her being equal to Marr puts her below Kyle in my books
Obi-Wan vs Raskta Lsu: While Raskta was hailed as a great swordmaster of her time. We must remember what this time was. One of child soldiers and desperation. Her only observable feats were while under a BM amp and are quite ambiguous. Obi-Wan on the other hand was stalemating one of the best pure swordsman in the entire history of the Order at 17. Even if Raskta could press a minor advantage in sabers, Obi's force advantage wins it for him regardless.
Luminara vs Qui-Gon: Might cop some flak for this one. But Luminara just impresses me more. Her Form III defense and passive approach could tire Qui-Gon as Maul did and she has shown greater magnitude in the force.
Shaak Ti vs Kyle Katarn: This one is very close. I'd more inclined to side Ti via her near defeat of Marek. I'd love to hear in depth cases for this one.
Obi-Wan vs Luminara: This is really tricky. Yes, Luminara was beaten by Ventress when she was "no threat" to Obi-Wan at the time. But this is after AotC. This is where the timeline ambiguity really screws this kind of comparison over. So we make this simple. Obi-Wan has better feats and accolades even at this point and pure Legends timeline has him almost stalemating Ventress with his lungs melting shortly afterwards. Obi-Wan pressing back Dooku and Maul with offensives is enough for me to indicate he can break or outmaneuver he guard and she isn't getting past his.
AotC Obi-Wan vs Shaak Ti: You know. Move the timeline forward 6 months and Obi-Wan wins this. But right now he sure does not.
Shaak Ti wins.
Satele Shan: Kyle just has better feats and accolades to his name. The amount that Satele grew after the Hope trailer is ambiguous.
That was a pre-prime Satele before she started learning a new philosophy.
Additionally I think we should consider her temporarily blinding and teleporting vs the Outlander. I feel that's a potential way to win via hax
Fight 1: Jedi Exile narrowly wins
Fight 2: Kyle Katarn wins
Fight 3: Raskta Lsu wins
Fight 4: Qui-Gon Jinn wins
Fight 5: Kyle Katarn narrowly wins
Fight 6: Raskta Lsu wins
*** Fight 7: Kyle Katarn wins ***
Sounds solid to me (apart from bolded part).
Aotc obi? I am pretty sure qui gon can beat him.
Legitimately hard press TPM Maul and being defeated more cause physical exhaustion than skill gap > getting manhandled by a clowning dooku in 20 seconds and losing a sparring match to fisto
@richard96: Are you saying dooku wouldn't clown qui gon as well? Not to mention Obiwans feat by default is superior for contending with the superior duelist in the first place. Theirs also the fact obi was also tired from the arena as per the AoTC novel. I'm not saying he couldn't be able to beat obi however by AoTC I feel soresu would give him that edge needed over him. I mean theirs a few statements stating he was one of the best duelists of the order but he himself stated obi wan was going to surpass him.
Also why in the world would TPM obi (who would already be a decent challenge for him) somehow not get better in the what 10-15 years to AoTC? You may have a point with force capability but i still see no reason for obi losing a sound majority
