In Marvel: End

TOAA had to give his omnipotence to Thanos so that he can fix the universe by remaking it.
The universe was terminally ill and was about to be destroyed and it cannot be fixed.
Thanos had to sacrifice himself to save it. His OMNIPOTENT powers cannot fix it while the universe was still in existence.

The challenge:

Can the presence cure the terminally ill universe?
He has to cure it while the universe is still existing.

 The Presence is omnipotent ergo, he can do anything. He wins the challenge.

Basically what people need to do is look up the meaning of the word omnipotent, this needs to be locked. TOAA can do anything he wants. (which technically includes fail, as it is not perfect)
But strictly comic-wise no challenge at all.

I believe that TOAA could have fixed the multiverse as it was, but he wanted Thanos to do it to realize and learn something for the future.

@thegreat:

We know what omnipotent means.

The Marvel: End comics gave the omnipotent thanos a challenge.

Its either that the HOTU is not really omnipotent
or
TOAA is nigh omnipotent

No, that does not need to be the case.  TOAA could have created the situation, to teach Thanos something or prepare him for something else in the future.  It's not that he could not fix the problem, but that he made it so Thanos could not fix the problem without doing what he did.

I don't believe the TOAA gave his power to thanos to fix one puny universe, Thanos was probably being watched by the TOAA to see what he would do with all this power, and the Presence and the TOAA are equals due to them representing their own comic universes sorta like beyonder...
