I don't think any iteration of Cable could beat Superman but at his prime (like, Savior Cable) he could definitely give a fight; as I understand he has fought characters on this tier before.
Prime Cable? As in Savior Cable? He destroys Superman... He could rewrite DNA on an atomic level, had enough telekinesis power to shatter Surfers board into pieces, had planetary level telepathy, could actually fight at lighstpeed so was even faster in combat than new-52 Superman, could turn invisible at will, he could literally use his power to travel "in-between the moments" which meant he could control time itself to a certain extent, had TK shields and large scale matter manipulation, etc...

Isn't Cable a telepath? If he can hold his own for a bit he should be able to shut down superman's mind I imagine?
