Haven't watched JL, but Aquaman wins in a not surprising mismatch if he is good enough to not get blitzstomped by Clark or Diana. Frankly, that's all he needs to suggest he is on another tier.

Yes I am well aware of this version of Cap from that Animated cartoon, this version of Cap has not displayed anything yet that can be used as grounds to beat Aquaman, anything insanely OP will automatically be overruled by PIS, so try again later with more authority in your post. Cap has no piercing resistance feats, but it's not like he can't survive without them. Cap can easily use his shield to block the attacks, or simply evade them, like here:

How about this, show me Aquaman reacting to lasers , dancing around multiple guns firing at once, Tanking attacks that could oneshot buildings, hurting beings on the level of 2mau heavy hitters, creating building sized shockwaves with his hits ,on a consistent basis. Then we can say he has a chance.

anyway, cap has combat speed enough to dance around this version of aquaman and has already done the same kind of blocking his attacks scenario with a far stronger, far faster character with the same powerset. cap's replicated striking quite a bit above what steppenwolf used to put down aquaman, and he can tank it if aquaman manages to hit him with this fists.

I disagree here. Different versions of the same characters may have different power levels. Let's take MCU Cap for example. Just because he is significantly weaker than 616 and Ultimate Cap, does that mean that all his weak showings are PIS, and should actually be considered on that level because his name is also Captain America?
Also, AA Cap is not that much more powerful than Ultimate Cap. The guy also tanked hits Abomination, hurt Hulk, and K.O.ed people like Juggernaut.
