Mecha Godzilla should win handily. He overpowered Godzilla’s atomic breath, was insanely agile and was capable of manhandling Kong and Godzilla at the same time. Meanwhile King Ghidorah was matched solely by Godzilla for a significant amount of time.

Monster Zero could short circuit Mecha with its Gravity Beams and MZ has a really good regenerative factor

Ghidorah stomps. Mechagodzilla is a glass cannon his blast scales directly to Godzilla who blast couldn’t do a thing to Ghidorah.

His only way of harming Ghidorah would be to close the distance and try and shoot his blast down his throat which isn’t going to happen via 3 heads and one light blast from Ghidorah shreds mechagodzilla

Mecha Godzilla probably wins with extreme difficulty unless

Monster Zero could short circuit Mecha with its Gravity Beams and MZ has a really good regenerative factor

This happens.

But for all we know the gravity beams would super charge mecha godzilla. We have no idea how they would interact with him.

@alextheboss: Reasoning? Kong and GZ we’re at half strength, he died to the same axe attacks Godzilla tanked, Kong put him on his ass and he only slammed on Godzilla so much due to being perfectly designed to counter him as confirmed by the director.

Unless you think GVK GZ is just that much more powerful than KotM due to being visibly faster and being able to better QuickDraw his AB? We know from the novel he kept at least part of the Mothra amp.

Attributing absorbing powers to Mecha Godzilla doesn't feel appropriate, since Mecha Godzilla has never actually demonstrated power absorption in any appreciable form. Unless you've got a screengrab with engineering specs or something from a novelization, that'd be neat to know...

Ghidorah, though, does have absorbing powers that can explicitly absorb Godzilla's energy - an energy that exactly matches Mecha Godzilla's energy. Never demonstrated that ability for anything except its bites and sitting its ass on an active volcano, but that's not nothing. Once the draining starts in earnest, it gets harder and harder for MG to escape.

Still, MG's agility and versatility with its weaponry (see: MG fending off Godzilla and Kong's grapples in quick succession by firing hidden missiles, using fast twists, and presumably at least respectable strength) feels like a good counter to Ghidorah trying to get a leech-bite in by attacking at multiple angles, at least to start. Missiles don't auto-regenerate, though, and Ghidorah (when he absorbs energy) does.

MG has a win path - even if the Godzilla that MG fought was exhausted from drilling a new hole to Hollow Earth and establishing dominance over Kong, that's still a Godzilla that has at least some of the Mothra amp, so its not like MG's breath can't hurt Ghidorah. He's fast, and can sorta counter (less so over time) Ghidorah's draining, probably/sometimes.

I just think Ghidorah as the advantage here - he not only has proven draining feats on exactly MG's energy type, he has enough mobility to stay out of MG's babyshaking melee range and the firepower to at least drive MG to vulnerable positions. Once the draining starts (and even with MG's counters, 3 heads trying will eventually succeed enough to make complete success easier), it's hard for Ghidorah to lose.

Majority to Ghidorah, Ghidorah occasionally gets baby-shook in melee and fried by spiral beams in rotating successions.

@greysentinel365:

And he almost beat both at once.

he died to the same axe attacks Godzilla tanked,

Getting KOd isn't tanked, and the axe that hit Mecha G could have been more charged up. I do agree Godzilla has greater durability though.

Kong put him on his ass

Kong was almost killed.

and he only slammed on Godzilla so much due to being perfectly designed to counter him as confirmed by the director.

Yeah that is one of the reasons he won so easily.

Unless you think GVK GZ is just that much more powerful than KotM due to being visibly faster and being able to better QuickDraw his AB? We know from the novel he kept at least part of the Mothra amp.

I do think GvK Godzilla got stronger, but idk by how much. I think he beats Ghidorah, but it's close. I think Godzilla, Ghidorah, and Mecha G are all close and could go either way.

I agree, but by the same logic we can't just assume the gravity beams could short circuit him either. I was just saying we don't know how he would react to them. I think the safest thing is to assume they would just do standard damage like normal.

The rest of your post is a fair assessment.

@alextheboss:

And he almost beat both at once.

When both are tired, sore, slower and injured. And even then MGZs success was more due to being able to bultitask with his weapons. Ghidorah has three heads.

Getting KOd isn't tanked

He wasn't K.O'd. This is confirmed by the director. He was momentarily stunned. But so was Kong. At best it was a draw. Also, GZ took that attack to the skull and didn't have so much as a scratch. The axe can only hurt certain parts of his body. It can wreck all of MGZ

the axe that hit Mecha G could have been more charged up

The axe that K.O'd GZ had taken a sustained beam for nearly 30 seconds from a full power Godzilla. And we can see this from the shockwave it produces on contact. The one that killed MGZ took a 5 second stream from the weakest GZ in the film. And we know his breath in particular was nerfed heavily from the director himself.

Kong was almost killed.

Both are true. But MGZ is able to do this due to the multitasking of his limbs. His tail saved him. Ghidorah has the apendages to keep up.
