Poll 2 hyenas vs Jaguar (65 votes)
Who would win this fight?
Hyenas can drive off lionesses,so the Jaguar would end up running away. But one on one the Jaguar would kill them
@flashback0180: So does the Jaguar
@modernww2fare: they use numbers To fend off lions against an equal number of lions hyenas will get wtf godstomped
i had no idea how strong a hyena was
They're stronger than leopards in certain areas of the body. However, a leopard usually wins 1on1, but in this battle the hyenas curbstomp.
@modernww2fare: dam i just said that because they had a stronger bite force than African lions , looks like jaguars have nearly 3.5x more bite force
@flashback0180: no one beats crocs
@xxdeathmakerxx: hippos ?
Hyenas have good teamwork.
They would win in a 2 vs 1 situation.
However they would lose every time 1 vs 1.
@flashback0180: crocs would reach the sun long before hippos decide To wake up
2 hyenas would probably defeat jaguar but one would get seriously injured and other a bit too,one on one hyena would put up a good fight but would loose everytime.
Agreed
Agreed
:).
Jaguar would get a fight of its lifetime against one hyena , so two hyenas stomps.
This
Y'all are crazy.
Hyena clans are actually huge. Think above 50+.
They would never solo hunt a Jaguar or anything of its size. I don't see how anyone unironically can believe 2 Hyenas are going to win this. You would want 6-7:1 odds for at least a semi-favorable outcome. Hyenas main method of hunting prey is to relentlessly chase it until it's too exhausted to fight back. They don't canonically fight head on vs prey bigger than them.
The Jaguar, unlike the Hyena, doesn't rely on attrition to kill its prey. It just runs at them with its absurdly stupid speed of 50 MPH (some reports of closer to 65 MPH) and disproportionately overpowered bite. Which is close to 2100 PSI BTW. Almost 82% greater than the Hyenas.
Did I also mention that Jaguars, like.. don't actually give a fuck? They will run at bears. Do you think a Hyena would run at a bear? No it wouldn't. They ain't about that life.
Hyenas are the arm chair generals of the African kingdom. They talk a lotta shit but at end of day only ever win by dog pilling opponents. Jaguar on other hand is like that dude from the raid. It just runs at you and you're dead.
Jag effortlessly stomps.

This was a awesome respond man
The Jaguar's bite is estimated to be almost twice as powerful than a tiger, and Hyenas stand at 1100 psi, which is significantly weaker than a Jaguar, whose jaw is built to drag large preys up trees, and their claws could rip a Hyena's throat if he blitzes.
You would need at least 10 Hyena's to put a large male Jaguar down, assuming he is not bloodlusted.

@dailyukulele: You bumped this thread to be wrong deadass? LMFAO
@uxasgodoflordsz: I'm right. absolutely 100% right.
The highest recorded weights for the biggest hyenas is roughly 140 lbs (females tend to be bigger)
The heaviest Jaguar recorded weight in a male jaguar at 300 lbs, that is twice the size of the hyena, not to mention big cats in general are superior in athletic ability to hyenas.
Hyena may take a couple of rounds but I will say for the majority, jaguar wins 8/10.
Hyenas
OT: intellectuals here overestimate bite force way too much. They probably think it works like magic spells or something
@sixpathsofcapra: The biggest jaguar is twice as big as a hyenas biggest weight if 140 is something to go by. That is a 2x1 weight advantage, and weight and size is the most important thing in the animal kingdom, they both have really strong bite forces that cancel out. If they were just behaving as animals, the jaguar would probably kill one and the other would run away. Female lions kill hyenas regularly and male lions shitstomp hyenas unless its 20+and they start biting its balls off. No way a hyena has a chance if this is 1v1.
a big male jaguar is basically the size of a low end adult female lion.
Though the lioness lost/probably died here, the lioness looked capable of taking 2 hyenas easy until more hyenas joined in on the kill, plus male cats have more muscle mass than females so I'd bet a 300 lb jaguar is a bit stronger than a 270 lb female lion.
if this is a normal sized 220 lb male jaguar it would lose but 300 lbs is twice the weight of the hyenas.

I've seen a lone male lion solo a group of hyenas. Hyenas like to fuck with lionesses, but they're scared shitless of males.
Jaguars take on caimans and anacondas. One male should be able to take down two hyenas.
Jaguar and Leopards are similar, the Jag are larger although not by much, animal muscle can be easily five times stronger than a human. The Jag from S.America they weigh similar to humans, with males ranging from 60-100 kg, but Female Leopards can be up to 30% lighter than the males. A Big Cat has the advantage of Claws they can tear open skin with their back legs and slash out eyes or slash at a throat with their front claws. 2 hyenas might drive a Big Leopard off but a Big Single Leopard is known to defeat a lone Hyena, they are very strong and are known to lift heavy animal carcass straight up a tree while easily climbing, sometimes they dive from above onto their unsuspecting target. This big Cat had the advantage of fighting at night, Cats have excellent eye sight at night, I believe a Hyena's nightvision is worse than a Dogs. The Hyena can not really be compared to other creatures, it is not a Dog but a type of Viverroidea Carnivora they are more closely related to Mongoose, Large Indian Civets, Galidiinae creatures, Malagasy Civets they might not be as smart as a Dog or Wolf but they are good hunters and the Hyena are a pack animal and used to fighting in teams. Most animals close to each other in power, usually will avoid direct conflict because a loss of an eye or damaged paw could lead to starvation....the winner might still die in the cruetly of wild nature.
A Hyena might be allowed recover from its injuries and feed and allowed recover by the pack or a Matriarch might get annoyed with the injured heyna and cast it out. Hyenas can quickly turn on each other and have infight or clan fights as family split up.
vs a fully grown 600 pound 272 kg Male Lion a Hyena has little chance
.
Probably the hyenas, but only because there are two. One might die.
Probably Hyenas.
The Hyenas.
A male Jaguar has the strongest biteforce of any big cat. They're very robust and strong. I don't see the Hyenas faring well at all.
jAGUARS can kill sucuris so why not hyenas??
Jag mid diff
