Assuming BvS make enough money, there is almost a certainty will be a Superman movie. After watching Angry Joe review of the movie the there is one thing he did made a good point, the fact that if there is a new Superman movie, there will be no stake in it since he won't die again. So how would you go on to make a new Superman movie?

My personal idea is by making an All-Star Superman like movie. Where Superman wakes up from his coma a year later risen from the grave, and seeing the world change with Batman and the rest being the symbol of hope, while the world forgot about Superman. At the same time Superman is actually dying and has a 2 years to live. Similarly enough Lex Luthor is also dying of a rare incurable disease. They can either try to follow the comic somewhat or try something more original with that premised, but at the very least that way Superman 100% die in the end, maybe not in the sequel, but in the JL movie if they ever do one. Also I would not have Zack Snyder direct it ( I don't blame him for making BvS an okay movie, I blame him for Man of Steel).

So what are you guys idea for a Superman sequel or premise

I really don't want him to die.. or see the All-Star Superman thing that he'll die from radiation poisoning. As much as I love the All-Star Superman series, I really don't want it to be in the DCEU.

I think, regardless of what storyline they go with, the main thing they need to do in the next movie is just let Superman actually BE Superman and not some moody emo kid that doesn't smile for the entire movie. The best part about Superman is that he is a symbol of hope, he represents the best of humanity, despite the fact that he technically isn't even human. Fortunately, now that he's dead, this opens up the possibility for this version of Superman to be introduced into the DCMU. With Justice League already being split into a two-part movie, have Darkseid appear and just plunge the world into darkness and despair. The Justice League are out matched despite their best efforts. Humanity starts to rethink their views on Superman and yearn for a savior to swoop down from the heavens and save the day. All hope is lost. And then, just when things are at their worst, BAM! Superman comes back to life, the symbol of hope he was always intended to be. The source of unabashed good we desperately missed in the other movies. Maybe his time in the Kryptonian afterlife pacified him, I don't know, but the point is, THIS is the Superman we all know and love, the Superman from the Pre-New 52 continuity. Their savior returned, humanity loves him, the Justice League is fully assembled behind their new leader, and Darkseid gets his ass handed to him and banished back to Apokolips.

That's my wish list for how they handle the next movie, but in regards to the next solo Superman film, honestly I would love to see Brainiac from Geoff John's "Brainiac" storyline or Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor Sr. in the green and purple power armor.

@replicant0658: Yes I completely agree! BvS in my opinion didn't do Superman any justice. When I was watching him on screen he just didn't feel like Superman to me, he didn't say things Superman would say, he didn't give off a Superman vibe idk...It just wasn't there...the feeling of hope, the feeling of inspiration and warmth. I'm hoping his death in a way is like rebooting the character, and when he comes back he will act like SUPERMAN. No more pouting, no more "I'm a loner feel bad for me" Superman act. It's time for him to actually live up to what the S stands for and hopefully we the audience will feel like we're getting the Superman we deserve.

I want him to round up the remaining Kryptonian tech (like the ship he left in the Indian Ocean). I want him to build his Fortress of Solitude. I want to see more of Jor-El teaching Superman about his home world. I want him to learn the legacy of the House of El and gain pride in his Kryptonian heritage. I want him to embrace being both the son of Jor-El and Lara-El and the Last Son of Krypton. He has faced his demons in BvS, and remained the hopeful hero and savior, throughout. He went so far as to sacrifice himself for all of those who deserve it, and all of those who plotted to destroy him. He has laid the moral groundwork for the Justice League. It is time for him to inherit his entire legacy, now. Give us: Kal-El of Krypton.

I don't know if Superman should get a movie anytime soon. It's Hulk syndrome. Too powerful and his complexities won't be appreciated if they go in depth.

Should just let him be in others movies as much as possible.

But I would like too see Kingdom Come like story. I love the Snyderverse and believe this fits. Bats already is jaded and uses Alfred to man machines so I could see him commanding robot army. Snyder already takes on the real life reaction to Superman. Too boring. Too much of boy scout.(you can find many articles about this after Returns and before MoS). The world is jaded towards power(government and religion). So Supes not wanting to deal with the world would fit.

But yea idk if he can have a standalone movie. People have too many views on what Superman should be(Snyderverse explores this). Anything with a real villain would fail in the eyes of the critics. His comics with actual villains don't have the type of All-Star Superman people say they want..lol at that version of Supes fighting Braniac or H'El or Darkseid or anyone that cause an actual problem.

I'd want a script by Geoff Johns, Chris Terrio, or even Max Landis. For director someone like Brad Bird, Sam Raimi, or even J.J. Abrams at this point. If the script is by Geoff Johns then hell I'd be fine if it's Brett Ratner, I actually liked his Hercules movie.

For story I think maybe something like a man in a foreign prison internment camp builds a distress signal out of spare parts. Superman saves him and it turns out that it's Lex senior. Superman then rebuilds a fortress of Solitude out of all the Kryptonian tech on Earth. Then they follow "For the Man who has Everything" for the first 30-45 mins, but like the JLU episode where Robin isn't there and the beaten Wonder Woman is the one to throw the Black Mercy at Mongul. After that Superman could still feel depressed, especially if "Clark Kent" is still dead at the end of Justice League. Then Bat-Mite, first appearing in Mr. Mxyzptlk's "true form" in the "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" story then quickly turns into the more traditional biggest fan, comes by because despite being a Batman fan he likes Superman and grants Supes the ultimate wish for the man who has everything, to fix one of Superman's biggest regret, not saving Pa Kent in the Tornado. So he lets him travel through time Superman saves him without anyone else seeing him and tells Pa Kent that In the end people do accept him, it might take awhile but young Clark should never lose hope, while pointing at his crest.

When he comes back to the present he goes to Pa Kent only to find out that he died of a heart attack years earlier. Bat-Mite tells him, that no matter how hard he tries Superman can't save everyone, but that doesn't ever mean you shouldn't try. Superman has another saving montage, this time more like the one in the Richard Donner films. Afterwards he goes to work at the Daily Planet because Clark Kent is still alive and never died in this timeline and neither did Jimmy Olsen. The Metropolis PD calls him in and have Maggie Sawyer tell him that if he wants to continue stopping crimes and arrest people he needs to work with Dan Turpin. The last act would be them stopping a series of robberies by Toy-Man who's using the robots from the Superman cartoon The Mechanical Monsters. Then have it ends with Lex Luthor Sr. giving a speech on how times have changed since he was away and that he's now running for president.

Superman NEEDS to be confident. I'm tired of this 35 year old grown ass man whining and complaining about his life. You're Superman, grow up, be the inspiration the world needs.

I agree about a more confident Superman. BvS was an improvement, but Superman needs to be an alpha male, the kind of guy that takes charge of a (often dangerous) situation and controls it. The reason why Superman has historically been the head of the Justice League is because he is an inspirational leader. Where Superman goes, others follow. I like the cinematic Superman, but I indeed want him to grow into the more iconic Superman. That said, if they inconsistently alter his character, it will be disastrous.

to be fair he wasn't really given a chance to do anything in this movie. he was way more confident than he was in the first one. however, he really couldn't do too much after lex's smear campaign. he got blamed for crap that wasn't really his fault.

@christianrapper: They at least could have him save Jimmy Olsen and not kill that warlord, and what's probably a hard thing for Zack Snyder to grasp is Superman enjoying saving people.

New director, for story flow purposes and to embrace what these characters are completely and not de-construct them to fit in the 'real world' otherwise i'd have Zack any day.

Giving Superman more to say, to voice his ideals and convictions assertively, like in MOS but more so. (literally only Clark Kent was saying all the right things in BvS).

And when Superman has those rescue moments, spend more time with them don't make 2 second vignettes of those moments.

And last requirement, Don't ever have him kill again, Zod wasn't necessary but what's done is done, Doomsday was more forgivable.

to be fair he wasn't really given a chance to do anything in this movie. he was way more confident than he was in the first one. however, he really couldn't do too much after lex's smear campaign. he got blamed for crap that wasn't really his fault.

True but they could have given him his due diligence and let him get in his point of view with more dialogue( During the court room scene in particular). The Superman in BvS has been active for two years, he wouldn't be so freaking unsure of himself or even if he was he'd voice his own opinion on the matter. The creatives behind this movie should've given him that at least. He was more assertive in Man of Steel.

In the dessert scene when that guy held that gun to 'Jimmy's' head, i half expected when he shot it, Superman would be standing there with the bullet in his hand. He didn't kill the warlord. Also, to your second point yeah, they should show more of that, when Superman comes down after saving that girl and comes in smiling when he hands her over to her mother, I LOVED THAT!! My heart melted, there should be tonnes more of that kinda stuff.

More pre 52 Geoff Johns secret origins vibe with a little Joe Kelly Action Comics style villain action. Sprinkle some Jeoph Loeb Man for All Seasons on top with a healthy respect for the Richard Donner cinematic supes and you've got a perfect Man of Steel sequel.

Maybe the reign of supermen. Lex sr (played by either Bryan Cranston or Jason isaacs), uses his sons actions to justify the creation of any number of the new supermen (eradicator, cyborg superman, superboy, steel) and of course things go wrong. Superman comes back for act 3 in that black solar suit

I don't think we'll have a Superman sequel. But what I would LOVE in another Superman Solo movie is to show why Superman is the symbol for hope. I expect this Superman is be the most inspirational, Up-lifting, and courageous Superman to ever be on film, with some music that consists of orchestra, choir, and a woman's voice when Superman is down and beat up, and flies slowly to the Sun. I don't want too much darkness.

I would love to see a movie about Brainiac where Supes goes to other alien planets to stop Brainiac's attacks before returning to defend Earth. Like the Geoff Johns story. Combine that with an emphasis on Clark's motivations (since it was almost nonexistant in MoS and BvS) and maybe something cool like the Black Mercy and I think you'd have a perfect Superman movie.

I think Superman will be back in the Justice League movie. So in a Superman movie, I want a new villain. Lex Luthor and Zod make up virtually every big screen villain for every Superman movie since 1978. No Bizzaro - villains that have the same abilities as the hero have been done too much in Superhero movies (Ant-Man v Yellowjacket, Iron Man v Obadiah Stane, Superman v Zod, Superman v Doomsday, Hulk v Abomination). Give Brainiac or Metallo a chance.

It would be interesting to see Superman go to an alternate universe where he have to stop his evil self, but agree that what I want most is Superman doing awesome Superman stuff. This is a guy that can lift buildings, fly at hyper sonic speed.

Imagine this in live action, which by the way if you have not seen the movie what basically happen after the video finished

Superman reveal he saved all the other people during this destruction to teach him a lesson, and he has his robot do the cleaning
