Who is the true voice of Batman? Kevin Conroy or Christian Bale?

Conroy, Bale is trying too hard.

Conroy is too iconic for me, he IS Batman's voice for me.

Conroy's voice does not always work. It does not work for stories such as The Dark Knight Returns and I've seen it dubbed over Bale in The Dark Knight, it didn't work. For movies I pick Bale, for cartoons and games I'll say Conroy.

I just wish they kept Bale's Batman voice from Batman Begins for the entire trilogy. When I rewatched Begins(especially the antidote scene I posted earlier) recently I was like "WHY didn't he sound like that for the other two movies?!"

It wasn't Bale's fault. Nolan edited it in post-production.

@modernww2fare: Probably to emphasize an angrier Batman. That was a key aspect of the trilogy, Batman was not some smooth-talking calm man who says various one-liners as seen in the Keaton movies, but a very angry and obsessed crime-fighter.

What do you expect him to sound like? Conroy post TAS literally had the same Bruce Wayne voice for his Batman voice.

Kevin Conroy as Batman is my childhood. Nobody can ever replace him ever.

I used to like Bale's batman but now I laugh whenever I hear him talk in his batman voice.
