@egod:

Hey Bud, thanks for stopping by.

Always good to hear from ya! That was my vague attempt to hide the real drawing.

Here are the finished pencils.

Been working on my pencil technique for a while and this I hope is starting to look like pencils. Being digital its been a pain to find the right combination of software and pen that gets the right look.

Even finding the right pencil in the software is a pain.

Anyhoo, on to the inks and then some colors and then back to my long overdue project.

I will be announcing it here and everywhere that I can when im ready to release it sometime this year.

@cyborgzod:

To hide the progress until I am done with either the pencils or the inks. If someone wanted to download it and revert it it was their prerogative. I did the same in other places I uploaded and people thought it had a cool vibe. I liked it so I did so to share an update. Glad you liked it though and thanks.

@ramsillustrations: I always wonder about the inking process. What exactly do you do to go from pencil to ink? I mean, how do you normally start inking? Do you layer and ink sheet over pencil or something?

Traditionally, at least for me, I just inked over my pencils. That just felt right for me but others might do what you mentioned by tracing over the lines.

I work almost entirely digitally and will use a layer on top of the pencils, sometimes several layers in case there is an issue I can single it out within a particular layer by reducing or increasing the opacity.

Usually I fill the large black areas separately and reduce the opacity so its grey on the area I am blacking out. That way I can see where the grey overlap the lines and its easier to stay within the lines. Everyone's got a method and may vary slightly but thats mine in a nutshell.
