Hey, new here. I've been lurking for a few years and decided to join. I've learned a lot about the medium and actually studied sequential art in school. I aim to start writing and illustrating my own personal story, but for now I'm just going to dump what I have here. I finished this Superboy piece a few days ago and currently working on another DC/Vertigo character. Hope you enjoy.
Superboy stuff
@hearsay: This is awesome what did you use for this (Markers? traditional paint, digitally ??)I can't seem to get this color quality
Thank you! @fiodestromus The first image is purely digital Photoshop work. The other two images are a mixture of digital and traditional. They are pencils and inks scanned in and then digitally colored.

Awesome,This is pretty cool work :}AND THANKS FOR THE FEED BACK :} lol
Saturn Girl from the Legion of Superheroes. Done in between the Superboy and Elaine Belloc pieces. Still haven't figured out how I want to color this one.
Also, keep the thread going if you want to see more stuff. Had to find out the hard way that I can't post more than twice in a row.
Hey! Welcome to the forums my friend. You got some strong pieces to start things off with. Digital painting seems to be a strong focus for you as you can see some solid technique with your brush work. Especially loving the pose and grayscale on Saturn Girl, resembles something Phil Noto would do :)
Hopefully you got a chance to look in on one of the Artist Challenges each month. No pressure, non competitive just about picking a topic, submitting your work and the forum votes which piece hit the target the best and gets to choose the next challenge. A lot of fun and love that your level of talent does not play a factor in the selection process :)
Here are the current challenges, would love to see what you could do one these; Sidekick Challenge, Zombie Challenge, Zatanna, Batman Beyond Challenge, Redesign 13 Challenge
As far as posting your work,it is indeed a pain with the restriction to post twice in a row, but mix that in the fact you can go weeks before someone posts anything makes it hard to showcase your work when you like to. So for myself, I try to post 4-5 images in one post once a month, this way I can still display the latest and greatest stuff, but not flood the forum and get frustrated waiting for a response to post more.
Again, great stuff, welcome aboard! Any questions feel free to hit me up
Thank you! I honestly do feel very welcomed to be officially part of the vine.
Yes, I love digital painting, although the format in which I do my linework doesn't really matter to me; I can do both traditional and digital lines. I do find it a real pain in the butt to color traditionally and so I use Photoshop for grayscale/color.
The artist challenges do sound like alot of fun! I'm not sure when I would be able to participate as I have so much on my plate right now. When I do have more free time I'll be checking them out.
Anyway, you brought up a good point about posting multiple images in one shot, so I'll post 2 for now. The first one is a Shadowcat redesign done around the same time as the Spectre, and the second one is an Aquaman piece I started about an hour ago. Let's see if I actually finish it.
Hello again, I haven't been posting anything lately, so here's a new sketch and some more progress on Elaine.
I tweaked Elaine's hand and necktie threw some value on her face to get a feel of how I want to start fleshing her out. I'm also adding the final linework and getting rid of the rough outlines.
As the for the new sketch, well, you guys should be able to tell.
I've been doing a super secret project and I just finished last night. I'm excited and I can't wait to see my first published work!
Aaaaand, second post. Elaine with finished line art. Adding different set of grays to her, making them more dramatic because, well, she's God and I want her to look as regal as she can possibly be while wearing a schoolgirl uniform. I also want her to look as though she's just descended from Heaven and about to smite an evildoer in a graceful manner.
