DC 2099 #18 - The Ray

Hmmmmm I have had a future version of the Rocketeer in my head for awhile. I could easily convert it to fit this. I might give this one a try this weekend

Ray already looks like a 2099 character.

I wonder if he would work as a "net" hero, like Gabriel O'hara.

In the near future, a gigantic cosmic battle ensues.
Darkseid is the main antagonist and plans to rule the universe. So, many heroes get together to stop him and his minions.
Darkseid is eventually defeated, but there is no clear victor. Many lives have been lost on both the sides. Among the casualties is Ray.
Planning revenge, Darkseid starts for home, only to come across the seemingly dead Ray. He senses the faintest breath of life, and resurrects Ray as his minion.
He fuses Ray with his Omega Beams, and the result is "Omega Ray"
 

@payno: Sweet work. @spawndon: Been wondering when you'd pop something in for a contest. Dang this is really good to say the least. I can't believe how diverse your work has been but I am not complaining. Nice!

kind of last minute but I managed to come up with something. Not really familiar with this guy but I did like the color schemes.

@tonis: Nice one, love the colors and light effects.

@KEROGA: I like the different helmet you created for The Ray. Good job.

thanks, yea that tron body suit is just so sleek looking that it's hard not to use it when you got these 'light' based characters. I also borrowed a Guy Gardner vest and a old school warrior helmet with fins to finish him off.

They all worked good with the black/neon yellow scheme he's had going on. Was a fun one. :)

all the body armor and suit are part of the 'Sedation Soldier' set made by 'Mestophales'. Definitely one of the most awesome and useful models in my collection. As Payno noticed it's also what helped me make my BaTron.

The helmet is a mix of the sedation soldier's helmet mixed with 'Gladiator Helmet' from 'The3dwizard'

Vest I think I got at heromorph and if you hunt for 'guyvest m4' you'll probably find it quick. It's an awesome Guy Gardner vest that looked nice with this character.

I did all the material shading using the 'Skye' latex shaders which kick much butt.

basic m4 was the model.

That's pretty much all the parts :)
