Character Creation Contest #20: Warrior and Animal sidekick

Let's have a partnership for a change... in the tradition of He-Man and Battlecat, She-Ra and Swiftwind, Pete and His Dragon... among others...
Create a Warrior of your choice together with his/her animal sidekick. The animal sidekick can be a regular animal or a mythical animal of your choice.
 Here are some inspiration for the hero/heroine and their loyal sidekick....
