Awesome Art Picks: Thing, Superboy, Spider-Gwen, and More

Each week we gather up the coolest comic book art that you won't see in actual comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists arrange commissions through their sites and post comic issue art so be sure to check them out.

Impressive stuff this week. I was almost surprised by the lake of nipples present on Donna Troy by Phillip Tan, but then I noticed the nip slippage.

EDIT: nvm. i guess it makes sense if we are seeing through the eyes of batgirl and not through the photo lens.

I'll let you know exactly what's happening with that, when the 11"x17" print I ordered from Chrissie's storenvy page arrives in the mail. :)

The Gwen and Batgirl pic is amazing!

I usually rag on Tan's art for his spherical boob and nipple fixation, but I always acknowledged how good he is as an artist. These two images are far below what I'd expect from him, though. Really surprised.

Nice collection this week, although nothing really stood out for me.

I know I'm not hallucinating, but why does Barbara's/Batgirl's face looks strangely like Kim Kardashian?

1. Where has Chrissie Zullo been all my life and how can I get more of her work in it??
2. I always love how Freddie Williams is able to bring out the special effect look on his work with just using the paper to do the work. The sparks on Donny's torch is amazing
3. EXCALIBUR!! I think T. Nauck has found his stride with his Nightcrawer pieces

This is my, Needham Comics', redesign of Hawk of Hawk and Dove. In the comics their powers and costumes come from mystical sources. They are Agents of Order and Chaos and Avatars of war and Peace. So I figured their costumes should be more than spandex. Their costumes, or his so far, are, is, organic alien looking armor... like the Xenomorphs in Aliens, or the Symbiote in Spider-Man, or the Witchblade or Darkness in Image. When they summon their powers their costumes grow and form around them. Nothing but their costumes are different. Hawk is still the avatar of War and Chaos. He is still strong and aggressive. I gave him claws on his hands and feet and razor teeth too. next I will finish this and add Dove.

That first set of photos are pretty sweet I love the turtles pix.
