Each week we search for and gather up the coolest comic book art you won’t see in actual comics. The reason you won’t is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists even arrange commissions through theirs sites so be sure to check them out.

Sara Pichelli posted some new commissions on her Tumblr this week.

Not really sure why but Mike McKone posted a sketch of M.O.D.O.K. on his Twitter page. When it comes to M.O.D.O.K., a reason isn’t necessary.

Skottie Young posted a Marceline, Death and He-Man sketch on his Tumblr. Head over to his store to see if they’re still for sale.

Philip Tan's art really sticks out

Almost fell over when I saw this.... SO EPIC!

I also really liked all of Nrom Raphmund's stuff, and Sara Pichelli's art was very nice (and I'm usually not a fan of her work).

Yes it does! Him, Norm Rapmund & Todd Nauck really rocked it for me this week. I loved the above Firestorm pic too, as an old-school Firestorm fan it was a fantastic one of old flame-head! I also LOVED Rapmund's classic Captain Marvel(I was thinking of you when I saw it, bud!!) & Tan's Zatanna, wow so sexy! Nauck is always awesome, wouldn't mind to see him on a GOTG book with the kind of art he's been doing with them recently. Francavilla's GR was pretty sick, too!

@winter_kills: Same here, I absolutely love Firestorm, he's my 2nd favorite comic book character. Also glad to hear people associate me with Cap, I love to hear that :)

Tan seems to rock it every week, i've not seen him do anything bad here. Takara's Wonder Woman is great, and Todd Nauck is on form as usual.

Young's creations are always so freaking adorable. Takara's Cloak and Dagger is outstanding, too.

Sara Pichelli is always putting out amazing work. And pretty much any of Ankas Spider-Woman designs would have been total winners. The dude has some serious talent! Can't wait to see where this hype will take him.

Incredible round this week. Have to say Patrick Zircher's Hulk was superb. I like the use of black and shadows he used, not something you ordinarily see regarding art featuring Hulk but he did an excellent job. I like his rendition of Hulk, not over-exaggerated yet he conveys a great sense of strength and mass.

Marcio Takara---wow...the Wonder Woman and Cloak and Dagger. The pose of Dagger especially, I was immediately drawn to it, very eye-catching ,especially with the contrast of Dagger's "light" and the background of Cloak.

Joel Gomez, I really dig his style, regardless of the characters he illustrates which I assume are done in watercolor and possibly ink spray? I just enjoy what he does, always great eye-candy. Same goes for Mike Henderson, similar style at times but that is a compliment.

Philip Tan and Brett Booth both incredibly talented with the pencils. Tan's Polaris..( I assume it is Polaris) and Supergirl, very nice. His Superman is expertly done, a very good "feel" that is indeed Superman in terms of appearance and his smile!

Sara Pichelli, nice nice nice, I enjoy the whimsical yet sexy way she draws female characters. Although most of them are a bit petite but again, another artist with a very recognizable style.

Great art, very inspirational!

why dont artists draw more characters fighting other characters????? im not saying i dont like these pics because they rock, but they are all so stale. always drawings of one character either in an action pose or just doing nothing. artists need to start drawing characters engaged in battle with another obscure character. for example, there are always awesome drawings of starlord or boba fett.. but there needs to be more pictures of starlord fighting boba fett!

I do, bro! Every time I see Cap I think of you & your story & it brings a smile to my face. Also, I loves me some Firestorm too! The classic Ronnie Raymond/Martin Stein Firestorm is one of the best characters ever! Like Cap, I wish they'd get him right in the New 52, he's just such an awesome, fun character, & like Cap, a hero for the right reasons.

This is Glorious!!!! Cloak just looks like such a supernatural bad ass! Dagger serves as a great contrast to him. Wonderful work! And not that I don't enjoy the female form but I feel Phillip Tan's work is almost pornographic. Maybe that's just me though.
