Artist Show-Off Showdown #84 : Exiles

I've always liked the Exiles, and I figured they would make a great contest.

In case you don't know, the Exiles are a team of six marvel characters from alternate universes, who were taken out of their timeline to help repair other broken universes.

I want to give you guys plenty of room for imagination, so the rules are: you can use any exile that existed (including new exiles and weapon-x) or even make up a new one. You can have six or less members of the team in the pic (because the exiles are more or less always six).

You have three weeks. Last day to enter is Monday Jan-2-2012.

@Blizaga101: yes! you have complete freedom to use existing exiles, or to use your own versions from alternate earths.

@KEROGA: the exiles are usually mutants, but you can use whoever you want.

spiderman was in exiles? great!

@Xmen_forever: I seem to recall seeing these guys in an issue of Ultimate Fantastic Four some time back. I remember them being awesome!

(kinda shy with this entry since this characters are so different from each)

Hank Pym + Ultron: after a horrible accident killed his wife and most of his body,he "repaired and healed" himself.Now leading his own dimension traveling team.

Ghost rider: after johnny blaze died in a stunt accident,his father barton blaze made a deal with mephisto to bring him back but of course he was cheated and cursed

Pandora:(daughter of shehulk & hercules) after her birth zeus outcasted her off mount olympus,her only resembles to her mother is green hair and super strengh.

@Xmen_forever: I love this idea and have been working on my owen Exiles team for a wile now but alas my scanner is broke so I don't think I can join, yet I still look forward to seeing every one else's pics. good luck to you all.

So I'm not really big on the Exiles... And I haven't really been following the X-Men all to closely over the past 10 yrs or so. But they were one of the reasons I started collecting comics in the first place. I thought the Exiles would give me an opportunity to try some different character sketches for a change. Enjoy.

@Decept-O: It is. I suck at colouring so I thought I would paint it as opposed to other methods.

@Hawkeye446: You're doing the right thing, in my opinion, you're trying to find what works for you and what you're comfortable doing. It is never easy, takes a lot of time and practice.

I've decided to postpone the deadline by a week (all entries must now be entered before Jan 3th) :)

I just did a paint of Deadpool and now I'm working on an iteration of Spider-man. They should go together fairly nicely so I think I'll make an attempt at this one too. 6 characters is a lot...I hope I can get it done by the deadline.

Here is a sample of mine so far if anyone is interested...I'm trying for 6, but the size each character is painted at, they might as well be individual pictures.

(Actual resolution is around 5500x7000...I'm getting way to into this one haha)

damn i would have loved to draw this one up to, but im gonna be to busy with my Sentry costume design to do this one I think, oh well might be able to do it :P

I have my line up ready, Blink from a kinda ninja universe, Spitfire, Nighthawk with a original design, Sunfire and Power Princess

Wolverine isn't near done yet, and I'm thinking about adding Monet St. Croix to round out the team - but I'm going to start drinking now and not stop until 2012...So here's an update of what I've got for you so far:

I am not too happy with the other entry so I decided to do a different one. Not certain if I can color it in time, it is just an inked sketch. May try to add more inks in awhile.

This will be my official entry please.

My Exiles!

Lineup:

Gambit- Leader of the thieves guild, and my Exiles.

Loki- An X-man with the same name, from a universe where every super is a mutant.

Rogue- Has control over her power, and still has ms marvel's powers.

War machine- A mutant with technopathic powers.

Mercury- Affected by the spiderman symbiote, her unique body allows her to not be controlled by it.

Professor X- Only professor x's astral form, his physical body is still in his home reality.
