Steve Trevor doesn't seem to be complaining about the knee pads either-LOL!
Artist Show-Off Showdown #68 Wonder Woman
Thanks everyone! Really got some stiff competition here everyone's work is just great.I see her being huge in every sense of the word 6'3" about 200 lbs (remember she was originally made of stone) she should be larger than the other female heroes accept for maybe Big Barda and She Hulk but have a sensuality to her that is papable. Almost like her greatest weapon in her arsenal is her stunning beauty. You would almost be so distracted by her looks that before you knew it. she clobbers you across the county.Alex Ross has had the best take on her in years in My opinion. It's a shame that the new Jim Lee design sort of down plays her looks almost making her seem smaller. I mean if we use the Amazon mythology as a base, they would definately take advantage of thier femine side, sometime even charging into battle topless! I see her built like the wrestler China in her Prime (Playboy era) but with the looks of a greek goddess. I always thought that Jennifer Connolly would have rocked as WW before she became a stick figure. Diana should by far be the Hottest Superheroine out there. Almost like she secreets Phermones that make men bow to her. That's just my take on it.I am interested to hear others thoughts on her appearance. If you can't draw maybe your input can be used for future submissions.-Cheers
really fit well . heck if we had it our way we would write and draw her in her classic look in stories that respect the true nature if not the essence of wonder woman as the spirit of truth and not as some second stringer female hero . it`s a wonder we all do a wonder woman one shot called wonder woman forever ! but as a fan fiction that is (nothing disrespectful or anything !) but other than that you
make great work and I am really digging your dynamic take on the lady in question no doubt if this was an graphic novel you would make the book look even better with your rendition (I salute thee !)
Thanks. I can't wait to see the other submissions. If anyone wants to collaborate on a fan fic I'm all ears.Would love to show DC what this charcater can really do instead of just being an attractive armpiece in a Male dominated Justice League. I would love to see her step up as a real franchise player in the DCU. In fact If I win this particular Show off I have a great Idea for the next contest involving WW but I will save that for the finish line. Great work everyone Love the alternate takes on her as well as the Classic looks . Keep up the great work everyone!
who the Hell was it that said that the suit was outdated anyway?SUCK IT DiDio!
I have got to say this has been fun (so far ) I have submitted three pieces of work into artist show off and already I feel better about my self as both an artist and as a person . it really has lifted my spirits and lets me square off against even more talented and indomitable artist other than myself . I feel Like I have been borne again artistically ! thanks for the challenge ....!
I now feel worthy and proud to be an artist more than ever before !
and iconic heroic poses :D are forever!
man I know how you feel, fighting some crazy stomach voodoo here too, well wishes on feeling better.
Nice job, it's like a portrait, which I always really like. Her face came out really beautiful (love those well defined cheeks), as did the shadowing and lighting depth.
@Raven0207: Love that sassy pose! I'll be going back to my usual pencils only submission this round as well. It's fun doing something different every now and then but I can only work out of my comfort zone for so long before I come crawling back. ^^
it's not so much crawling back as reintializing the core with tales of new adventures :)
it's good that you're challenging yourself, in the end only you can REALLY do that the right way.

"@tonis: Thanks, I was actually watching Season 6 of Xena when I initially sketched her out. "
ah, great visual inspiration to use while working on her. Lucy woulda made a killer WW back in the Xena days. Shame things never went that way.
Retrotastic? Great word! It's a keeper! Oh, and thank you very much, BTW...." @thecheckeredman: I love that!!! That is RETROTASTIC! "
@M.S. Feather: Darwyn is pretty amazing. I was actually looking at old GA WW covers when I doodled this, so to have a Cooke influence is a huuuuuuuuuge compliment!
" @thecheckeredman: I feel like I should put it in a mylar. As classic as classic can get :) "Wow...thanks. That's super flattering. Much appreciated!
" @Crazy Pan: I like this picture...its how I feel every day after work...How did you kno?! This inspires me to try even harder!! "Girl I totally feel you!! Sometimes I get home from work wanting to just fall asleep and cry xD! But at any rate, I'm SUPER excited to see what you're going to spit out girly girl! I hope you put out something BAD TO THE ASS :D!!! If you don't then I'll have to fart in your general direction >:[
Well, not with my students nor with my girlfriend with her friends recently.
But its fun. Kinda reminds me of my sister and her friends when I drive them going to a party.
"@tonis: Ha! No I posted it as an Edit on my post because no one else had commented; you know, you can't post twice in a row. so that's why it was "missed". Thanks for seeing it. I wanted to use the 40's hairstyle, too. So what is the "Lex Luthor" look? "
