True smh
Jason Momoa's Aquaman Costume Revealed
@cattlebattle: Yeah that wasn't exactly the first poster to look like that...
I don't like the tattoos.
DC continues to go into the dark, bleak, edgy road. Meh.
Pretty much but for what it is I really like it.
Also looking at it some more it honestly looks like 90s Aquaman except no blonde hair and he has tattoos
@cattlebattle: posters were made like that pong before thor came out

Show me.
When it gets the point where even the filmmakers and his fans think his original appearance as a white blonde guy with a orange and green costume made no sense... that's when you know that Aquaman has been lame since the beginning.
So many Marvel and DC characters get to have actors who look pretty close to the character their playing... but not Aquaman... half his fan base doesn't really give a shit. Lets hope DC learns from Marvel and changes Aquaman New 52 comic look to the film version. Because lets face, hardly any of you would really care...

Original marketing they have there...
And I'm not sure if this can be considered part of the marketing, this is a teaser pic for Aquaman's costume shown by Snyder, not an official poster for either BvS or JL or even a solo Aquaman movie released by WB.
@jonny_anonymous: i love 90s aquaman, i grew up on that. No color, not aquaman. Atleast for me. Just because hes shirtless, doesnt mean he resembles the 90s version/
My only main concern about the costume, despite preferring one closer to the comics, is that it doesn't look in any way regal. He looks like a guard, not a king.
I guess when you cast Jason Mamoa you're going for a specific look.
It wouldn't surprise me he was cast on look alone, with only a cursory audition..
@starbrand1: He has colour, it's just that poster has a filter. This one doesn't:

Agreed, this guy would never challenge a villain to a dance off. F-ing lame.
How does having a tattoo equate to "bleak and dark." A little ink doesn't make you a downer.
For the record, I was being sarcastic.
For a first costume it's fine. It'll break illusions and catch eyes. Plus, assuming Arthur isn't the most human right low it fits. Hopefully we'll get his more classic look down the road.
Looks solid, but also looks like him playing every typecast character he has in the past. His versatility is very limited, and honestly (IMO), his acting has a lot to be desired, but as a set-piece and one of 7 he should do fine.
The look powerful, and I am glad he is at least getting the green pants.
I really don't like Mamoa as Arthur. I would've preferred something less Pacific Islander and more English since he's based off of King Arthur, but I can't complain.
P.S... He bleached the picture, the colors are bleached out. His pants are green.
Aquaman was never based on King Arthur. And he was American. All they have in common is the name.
i dont care about the costume, i am more worried about how a 2 hour movie will be enough to give us the story of toooo many characters...
@superguy1591: I'm just glad Pacific Islanders are getting some form of representation, even if it does come at the expense of turning a white superhero into a Pacific Islander. As a guy who lives on a Pacific Island, and has many friends who are Pacific Islanders, this is great that they almost have their own superhero. I mean Pacific Islander Aquaman makes so much sense.
I am a huge fan of DC.
That's why i will go the movies and watch every film DC is going to release.
But I must say that I truly dislike this look and the choice of Momoa as Aquaman. Call me old-fashioned but i prefer the clean-cut image. like the new 52 Aquaman , or the one who appeared in the last animated movie. It seems that they tried to make Aquaman look like Momoa and the rest of the characters he has played when it should have been the other way round. He should have tried to look like Aquaman.
Moreover, the hair and the beard look just gross.
Very very good. Not trying to start a flame war but so far the JL look like they'll eat the avengers alive.
I really dig it. And let's be honest, this could have been anything and you people would still be bitching and moaning about it.
I'd watch the language.
And people do have the right to express their opinion, you know?
Pretty sure bitching isn't a swear
Should be.
It's not a bad character design, but I don't think it's a good Aquaman design.
@stellar421: are you sure? I saw a documentary about the Golden Age where they said he was influenced by Arthur Pendragon, being a boy who is unaware of his destiny to be king. King Arthur was unaware of his destiny until he pulled the sword from the stone.
Aquaman was unaware of his destiny until he fell into water.
Excalibur is Arthur's trident.
I could be wrong.
@nathan_abril: unlike many others, I have no problems with diversity for diversity sake. I am perfectly fine with the cast, it's the design that I don't like,
Though, as I've said before, i, too, agree with the fact that a Pacific Islander would be cast as an aquatic based hero.

Could be that he's based on Arthur, but the British nationality wasn't that huge of a factor.
@stellar421: I meant English armor.
@superguy1591: That's true. The switch seems to be rather radical, indeed. Let's hope they make the best of it.
This one approves.
Figuring out how to pull off the scales in live-action must've been a headache for the designers.
@the_stegman: Yeah, a boring tone. I almost fell asleep looking at that picture.
@the_stegman: they look laughable. I certainly wouldn't fear bad teeth Cavill, barely there Gadot, can't act Momoa, and fatFleck. Lmao........he'd certainly eat the Avengers or at least try to before the real BADASSES kick these losers asses......
@butters911: I'll have you on speed dial.
