Getting variant covers for issues

Can anybody help me figure out how to get the variant issue covers and info? It seems like come of them are contained as concepts, but not all of them. Is there an api resource that is dedicated to these?

Any help would be appreciated, I'm in dire need of being able to display this info

I believe the variant covers aren't exposed by the api.

They intentionally dropped the API access to alternate covers years ago when the server would go down frequently. IIRC they posted something about copyright agreements they had. They also put strongly worded language against scraping the web site for the covers and that they had code explicitly to look for such scraping activity.
