    Background

Wundajin (previously known as Wandjina) is the name of several incarnations of a character that homaged/parodied Thor from Marvel comics in the same way that Hyperion homages Superman. In his last incarnation he has two iterations: Thunderer, from earth 7 and Wundajin himself, from earth 8. The character has been member of the Champions of Angor and the Retaliators, both parodies of the Avengers.

    History

    Pre-Crisis

Originally, Wandjina came from the planet Angor, in an other dimension. Along with Blue Jay and the Silver Sorceress they called themselves the Champions of Angor. They first encounter the League when aliens robots attacked their world and they went to the source of the attack, where they found the leaguers. After a brief misunderstanding, Leaguers and Champions leave as friends.

    JLI era

Post crisis, the original tale was altered: the Champions went searching help for stop the Extremists, but things don't went smoothly as they wished. When Wandjina and his friends returned, the world was a wasteland. Then these heroes came to Earth to try to warn the human race about the dangers of Nuclear weapons. Sadly they are tricked by Colonel Rumaan to fight the Justice League. Upon learning they are working for the wrong side Wandjina sacrifices himself to stop a nuclear reaction that would kill millions.

He survived but badly damaged and easily manipulable by the Byalban Queen Bee who controlled him and used as a living weapon, until he was terminally stopped by Captain Atom.

On a flashback tale it was revealed how much Wandjina was member and leader of his team, who parodied heavily on the Marvel tropes as the nuclear accident origins, the soliloquies and the psychological traumas.

    Countdown: Earth-8

After 52, Angor, was reinvented as earth-8, where Wandjina still served as the Thor of his group,(this time, the Meta-Militia) but he had several differences with his previous incarnations: outside the cosmetic changes, he had a not-so-secret alter ego (Dr. Leonart Grant, colleague to Gorgon in the Experiment house) and was a closet gay. He was killed by Gorgon. He was still a leader and a hero but now he was grittier and darker much like the the rest of Earth-8.

    Multiversity

Rechristened as Wundajin, the character reappears in Multiversity, but this time as member of the Retaliators, the new DC's Avengers analogue team. With his weapon stolen by Lord Havok, he was beaten by his doppelganger, Thunderer of earth-7, a world which was an "Ultimate, Essential" version of earth-8. However he was ready to rise again when Nix Uotan attacked his homeworld.

    Flash Forward

Wundajin was also seen fightingh against the Extremists again when they destroyed their world again in Justice League of America (2017). However after the resurrection of earth 8, he was seen again fighting against Wally West on earth 23.

    Justice League Incarnate

Wundajin was show as an still active member of the Retaliators after the dissapearance of Machinehead. From sometime already, in earth 8 there had been an anti multiverse attittude than made the inhabitants to reject anything related with that. That feeling was exploited by the Psychopirate to corrupt Machinehead, with the aproval of the whole Retaliators team. This posture would be exacerbated when Tartarus attacked earth 8, searching a multiversal crack than appeared on that reality. Several Retaliators were hurt and apparentely American Crusader died. Wundajin suffered minor wounds but still was left weak. Still, he stayed with the new Retaliators when the Suicide Squad attacked, but in this weakened state, little he could do. Only the intervention of Purple Rain saved him and his companions from the hostile actions of Major Force.

    Trivia

Wandjina made an "unofficial" appearance in the last chapter of Avengers Forever as an Avenger of an alternate timeline, in the middle of a battle royale between evil and heroic Avengers. He was punched by an evil one-eyed Hercules.
